Battery Time

Hi guys,

After 6 years of life, my current original battery is about to die. The time has come to replace it with something a little more solid. I need the batt to perform very well and fit into the exisiting housing in my DC2R. It will be powering the car plus two Alpine V12 amps. Price isnt really an issue.

After a little research, an Optima YellowTop seems to be the way to go. But, someone posted that the size that fits my car has been discontinued, and after calling most of Sydney hunting for a 51R, i have come to agree with them.

So now im not sure what to do. I need your advise and suggestions. could i try to squeeze in a 35D? or is there an alternative to the Optima Yellowtop?

I can still get them here but shipping is an issue, I'm in the U.S.! I know Stinger ( Stinger-AAMP ) and SVR have batteries as well for your car. The Optimas are good but SVR lasted 2 times longer, cost less, and put out more then others. I use SVR in all our competition vehicals. But it's up to you. Contact the company you want as they will ship to you direct if they have something that fits.

oddesy i believe are one of the best. Look for high CCA output and low maintence type batteries. This should be good for the extra voltage to run your amps.

I got myself a Super Charge brand one. It has 480 CCA, which is quite high already.

Alternatives to Optima is the Odyssey. Just as expensive as they both are gel batteries.

I plan to get Supercharge Gold, it's a sealed liquid acid battery. But the price is good for the CCA it provides.
