    Auto transmission clunk

    Hey all,
Have a CD5, Auto. There is a little problem with it. When the transmission upshifts, there is a loud clunk sound that you can also feel about 0.5 seconds after shifting. It seems like engine mounts, but they have been replaced but the problem was not fixed.

History: Auto transmission sourced from a JDM halfcut. Actual transmission performance is good. No problems. Clunking started happening 2 years after transmission swap. Replaced all engine mounts including the hydraulic one. Problem still persists.

Is it a problem with the lock up torque convertor?

lock up converter doesnt lock up after each gear change,

mainly in 4th after constant driving has been achived,

with out driving the car or being able to do some test on it. its a real hard one to say.

but, are you sure your AT throttle cable is corectly adjusted.

with the thottle closed, the AT leaver should be at its rest position. the sligtest opening of the throttle the AT throttle leaver must start to move with no delays. if they are out of sync you will get thumping on shifts ect.

    check it out.

Thanks! Do you have a pic of the location of the AT throttle lever? Or is it just the part that is connected to the throttle cable on the throttle body?

    no thats the cruise control

there is a cable coming of the TB coint to the AT, near the dip stick,

follow it and you will find is lifts a lever. move the trottle to se it move

does it move as described above, if not you adjust it at the trans end

also make sure you throttle cable has some slack in it at the TB,

none of this tight no slack in the throttle cable crap. should have at least .5 to 1 cm slack in it
