    JapSpec F22B

    hey guys
just wanted to know if theres any difference between the Aus F22B1 and the Japspec F22Bx. i was told they're exactly the same but they just have a diff number at the end. both SOHC vtec etc...

and also wanted some info on getting an engine swap, if the engine is been sitting in the wreckors for some time, what do you need to change when you get it installed, i mean in terms of oil, sparks, fuel filter, timing belt, cam/crankshaft seals etc.
    cheers

    change everythign.
lol, oil pump, water pump, every seal, including head gasket etc.. that's what i would do personally.
and if got the know how, take it all apart and inspect the bottom end, most of the time it's not needed, but just in case.
    lol.

i'm assuming that the number at the end of the JDM engine is due to the fact that all the JDM engines do not have "generation" numbers at the end.. e.g. b16a2********** here, is b16a******** over there.. b18c7********, is b18c******** etc. etc.

they probably would be a bit different due to the octane levels/petrol quality.. (i.e. tuned differently)

and if the engine's been sitting in the wreckers for a while (you must also consider the travel time from japan).. i suggest you do the following..

    -Change Engine Oil
    -Change Spark Plugs
    -Change Transmission Oil
    -Change Radiator Coolant
    -Change Brake Fluid
    -Change Timing belt (if applicable)
-Air-Con (if applicable) and Power steering belts
    -Replace Filters (air/oil/fuel)
-Clutch inspection and replacement if necessary
    -Clean items

hey guys this is just a replacement engine, im not getting a conversion, im just getting the bare engine changed along with gearbox. so the clutch and water pump and anything outside the actual engine stays untouched in my car.

well the pump may be correded?

so you can either change your one over to the new motor.
but change all gaskets and seals.

if its F22B with no number then its dohc non-vtec.

You'll need to find out exactly which engine it is...F22B1 is sohc vtec for example while F22B2 is sohc non-vtec
