    2004 s2k headlights

just curious if there were any difference between the 99 and 04 model headlights besides the obvious aesthetics changes. I have been looking around for a pair for over 2 months now but seems almost impossible to buy from wreckers.

I dont think there are any noticeable differences at night when your headlights are on. But tail lights is different.

There are 3 individual lights on the '04, the AP1 has the reverse and indicator shared within the same clear lense.

I prefer the first headlights that came out on the S2000, the new angle eye style ones dont do it for me, i also rather the amber look rather than the clear.

I realise this is an old thread, but i thought i'd bump it with some info...

Main difference in the later model S2K headlights (not exactly sure when the change occurred to the lens assembly but it may have been with the update, although i have a feeing it was in the '05 model?) was the frenzel lens (seen as "ripples" in the lens) as opposed to a completely clear lens on the low beam HID projector on the earlier models. This caused a less-sharp cutoff line to reduce the "flickering" effect to oncoming traffic, but the light output is reasonably close to the same.

Some people prefer to drive with a slightly blurry cutoff as the road in the distance doesn't instantly go from lit up light xmas tree to pitch black.

If you were looking to upgrade to the later series lights, the swap of the projector lens could be done.
