Just a bit of a bump to answer a few questions.

    From my HU:
    * "motor antenna control lead" - Same as power antenna?
    * "External amplifier control power lead" - Is this the "remote wire" for the amp?

    From the car:
*Illumination (red/black) -...? - there doesnt seem to be a matching wire coming from the hu.

What car do you have ?

Not all cars have the same wires.

Im not sure if that statement applies to HU's as well.

Disclaimer - I can verify that the stated wires were exact in my car and my wiring loom. I cannot ensure that different cars will follow similar wiring and due to the fact that myeslf, here and installdr have vastly different loom codes them you can assume yours to be different.

Doing this is quite simple, you can easily identify the speaker wires because they are coupled together. To identify the speaker, simply connect each end to a AA batery the speaker will crackle and the low voltage shouldnt harm the speakers. The power wires can then be identified by using a test light, ground one wire and then connect the other wire to each of the 5 remaining loom wires. Doing this when the car is turned off will identify the constant power, and then turn the ignition on and use the light to identify the acc/ign power wire. Remember that if you touch the 2 wires together you will likely blow a fuse.
