Hows the exhaust note on your Spoon muffler?
muffler isn't that loud, it's one of those mufflers where the only people that can hear it are the ppl in the car.... which is kinda useless.

springs are pretty low... don't really know the diff btw lows/super lows. u can see for yaself in the pics.

pretty crappy pics taken with dodgy phone camera and touched up in photoshop:
    one
    two
this is with my mate's civic
    four

other things i would add to my car:
    - recaro's
    - sunroof
    - catback/headers (woteva they are)
    - cool air intake
    - TYPE R ENGINE......

yeah ive seen your mates car around a lot...especially the glenny region. not a huge fan of the buddyclub kit on it...

the vi's are hard to find stuff for....but i guess it actually takes some effort to find things...i loved the room of the car, despite the family car look.

i used to owna 2002 Honda Civic Vi, but i just recently purchased the new civic.

    my old civic had:
    Custom CAI (K&N)
    8000K HID
    Compressed lowered king springs
    19' lowenharts
    $8000 sound system

but yeah parts are very hard to find as the engine is rare, there are not many part for the D17Y....that pissed me off.

in terms of bodykit it is very hard to find..front and rear spoiler is easier as it is more avilable everywhere BUT australia, and in terms of skirt u normally need custom job.

the white civic, i think need a custom job to fit the buddyclub kit to install it if im not wrong.

but yeah i miss my old civic heaps :P

Now that's a sweet looking vehicle, bangers...

Hey, DoAvl...do you happen to have a picture of your engine bay? I've been trying to work a few things out for my Civic (same model - 2001 Vi), and I've got absolutely no idea what to do with trying to put any sort of intake or pod filter on the car - what with the intake on the standard engine being pretty much right next door to the engine bay wall!

the other thing is - does anyone know where I can get a header for the 1.7l SOHC VTEC engine? the people I've talked to down here in Tassie seem to not even know that the engine exists! All they seem to find is the 1.6l instead...

in terms of engine mods, the d17a is pretty useless. I dont even think that any one makes headers for this car. If you wanna go fast, you chose the wrong car. As did I hence why I'm selling the car, and parts for it.

Yeah, I've found that just from looking around. It's not so much about going fast, but more just a few enhancements to performance.

The end result I'm aiming for is more of a cruise/show car, rather than anything I'd want to race.

Love the look of your car, though - beautifully tidy.

i used this k&n instruction set to install the piping
    http://www.kandn.com/instructions/69-1008.pdf

i'll take photos of my arrangement when i can get a hold of a decent camera.

    bangers:
you're right, the buddy club kit needed custom fittings

i pretty much only use my car for work/uni/cruising. that's bout it... anything race related, then it's pretty much useless.

hey jaguar, have u takin the air box out of the engine bay yet? because if u have it give u alot of room to make a custom pipe for a pod filter.. because that was what i did..
u can also get custom exhaust pipe done at any muffler/exhaust work shop thats normally another cheap way to add a little preformance to your car. just ask the people to replace the pipping with a 2 1/4 inch pipe, that should cost you max of 200 bucks. other than taht theres nothing much u can do, in terms of little thing..

of yeah i know this is kinda bad but if u don't care about the environment, when u change the pipe, take out the cat. and knock out the honey comb filter, that will give u a high flow cat without any mods and the cops can't tell as the cat will look stock.

    just a suggestion....

Okay, probably a stupid question, but I'd rather look like an idiot now and ask the question, than not ask the question, spend the money, and look like an idiot later...

DoAvl, you showed me the 69-1008 K&N filter, but apparently I can only get that from the USA. Rocket Industries has both the 69-1007TB and 69-1009TP for the 02 Civic, though - but those parts are specifically listed as being 02 Civic forwards.

Question is whether anyone knows whether there's too much difference between the models that one of these parts wouldn't fit on my 01 Vi Civic? Or whether it would still fit fine...If I can use one of the ones that Rocket already stocks in Australia, it might save me a few dollars.

    Thanks heaps in advance,
    ~J

    do the swaybars etc.
you wont make it go faster on the straights if your on a budget.
so do it on the corners.

springs alone do jack for handling.
coupled with stock shocks they probably make it worse
