    220,000km service

    Hi All,

I've had the EH Si for a couple of months now, bought it with 214k on the clock (and just serviced), just coming up to the 220,000k service, what would you usually expect to be done for this?

The service sticker just lists 'oil filter', the 'tune' and 'trans/gearbox' lines aren't marked so I'm thinking it would just be fluid(s). If it was just fluids I thought I'd do it myself, what would be required (other than the oil filter, and new oil!)?

All fluids (brake, transmission, power steering) look clean, the car's not using/losing any, the radiator was replaced as part of sale, so that's all in order, nice and clean there, I'm running it on BP Ultimate, not sure what was used before.

I'm the 4th owner, I've got receipts for pretty much every bit of work done on it, looks to have been serviced previously when it should have, engine seems pretty strong and reasonably tight, doesn't blow a puff of smoke.

Seems to prove the theory that if you look after these engines, they've got a fair few k's in them. Just want to keep looking after it as well as the previous owners, so some advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers!

Copy the 120,000km list and it should be fine.

I hope the timing belt was changed at 200,000 lol

Yeah, I was thinking it's just an oil change, it's running really well and seems to be all in order...thanks!

Yep, timing belt at 200k, the owner's manual 'listed services' run out at 100,000k! So not sure what a 120k list looks like?

Its basically the same as the 20,000km service, with the addition of a Manual Tranny oil change. Also checking the Idle speed wont hurt - it should be sitting at around 650rpm-700rpm. If its not, then clean the Throttle Body, IACV, and screw in the FITV valve.

if the timign belt has been changed at 200k then at 220k should be a major service, ie; engine oil, gear box oil, brake fluid/clutch fluid, fuel filter oil filter

It's my first Honda and I'm just trying to get a handle on what's usually expected at 220k, with the service books running out of detailed service info @ 100k, transmission fluid looks clean and viscose, the brakes were overhauled in May, along with the fuel injection system. All running well and feels good all round. I'm thinking an oil change along with the oil filter would be OK for another 5k, and then put it in for a 'going over' at 230k.

    Thanks for the input.
