Pete man have you ever filled up when the fuel light comes on? I used to do that until I realised I still had over 10 litres of fuel left in it!
Now look at you average fuel consumption...I am usually between 5 and 6 litres/100km, so that means I can get close to another 200km before I'm out....I have driven from Sydney to Richmond and back with the light on the whole time....
Next time you fill up, just make a note of how low your guage is and how much fuel goes in and you will slowly get used to how far you can go. I have had the guage about 3mm BELOW the empty mark and I still had a bout 4 litres left (still another 50-60km).
Does anyone have official fuel consumption specs for the 1.5 CVT and manual? I would have thought the CVT would be slightly higher than the manual as generally, CVTs are almost constantly in the meat of the torque curve thus using a bit more fuel. The pro for this is that you have virtually instantaneous response when you accelerate....
The manual is faster than the CVT as far as I am aware...
