    Another Tyre Thread

Soon I will be up for another set of tyres.
    20,000klm on RE040's

I am looking at the following tyres

    Bridgestone
    RE040
    S03

    Yokohama
    AVS V102
    AVS E100

All are within the same price range

    Any advice suggestions?

What car? What size? What is important to you? Comfort, quiet, treadwear, performance in dry, wet? How much you willing to pay?

    235 or 245/35 R18
I am after stiff sidewalls and am more interested in grip, etc over noise/comfort levels.

In that size, value for money would be something like Toyo T1R or Yokie V103, which ranks higher than V102 and ES100.

If you like to pay more for something better, get the ContiSportContact 2. They have very good wet lateral grip and quiet too.

No doubt Michelin PP2 is pretty good if you are willing to pay top dollar. However, no Michelin Pilot Series tyres come with 235 or 245/35/18 in Australia. It is really a rare size he is after.

if u r after stiff sidewalls, get bridgestone, Toyo T1r tends to hv a softer sidewall compared to GIII - sidewall though, not talking bout grip.
