    Abnormal Tyre noise

    Hi Guys,

Recently i've noticed that my tyres are making alot more noise than they used to, but my wheel alignment is fine and nothing shakes.

They have 50% thread left on them, would it be something i just didnt pick up before? They sound like ive got off road tyres

    Questions:

How do you know the alligment is ok?

Are they wearing evenly accross the tyres? If they wear uneven, they can get more noisy as time goes on. Expecialy uni-directional tyres.

2 its possible that a wheel/tyre is out of ballance. Ballancing weights can fall off and put it out of ballance.

Tyres are meant to be rotated and balanced every 6 months/10000km. You doing that?

Ive read that most tyres loose grip the more they are worn down (due to the compound getting harder I think), especially in the wet since the tread grooves are smaller and carry less water away.

Have a read of this article: http://www.roadandtravel.com/consume...fworntires.htm

So you may simply need new tyres.
