    White Spots on Wheels

    Hey guys,

Recently purchased a set of wheels that has white spots/staine on them very similar to the image below:

    http://archive.meguiarsonline.com/fo...aCone_0861.jpg

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get them off?

I've tried wax, wheel cleaner as well as some scratch x (small amount just to try) to no avail.

Color of my wheels are actually bronze, pic is for reference.

Will get some pics up asap.

It looks like a tough residue if anything which is why i think clay may work.. hwoever without knowing what it actually is, i can't be sure

worse case scenario use 2000grit sandpaper and be very gentle

ive found that the recycled water at the usual car wash spots tends to eat into the clearcoats of wheels

that could be the case here

The wheels in the link looks like stains from using incorrect wheel cleaner. It happened to me when i went to an auto brushless car wash, the guy sprayed on some wheel cleaner and it left similar stains on my polished wheels. I used Meguiars NXT All Metal polish and it came right off. Not sure how you can take it off, assuming your wheels are painted or anodised.

Going to try degreaser first and then clay, see if I can get any results.

Definitely don't want to use sand paper as its anodized, dont wan't to risk taking anything off.

I'd be hella pissed if this happened. Mishaps from previous owners so I'll never know.

Also want to try this but don't have the tool for it, I can't imagine hand getting any results.

Kind of does yeah, what I thought it would be too. I was planning to use metal polish to get it off but as you said wheels are anodized so no luck there. Have to find a way around it!
