    groove in brake disk

    searched but couldnt find much,

so it looks like a stone or something's gotten caught between my brake pad and disk and left a nice circular groove in the disk.

i noticed a shitload of screeching while i was driving too - probably the stone grinding, but it stopped abruptly which makes me think the stone fell out.

anyway the groove is probably about 1mm thick and depth-wise can be felt with the fingerpads/fingernail gets caught in it.

ive been told by a friend it should be fine as i dont track or anything (yet), but seeing as brakes are important i thought i'd be safety conscious and check anyway.
is there anything i should look out for?

    thanks

    No biggie! Just keep driving!

If it really bothers you, just have it machined or replace it.

Imagine if you had that rock caught in between your pad and slot in the rotor. LOL, that would be very bad.....

Slotted on the street does nothing anyway.

True, except that it doesn't like rocks and it wears down your expensive high performance brake pads a bit quicker.

    I use heat treated blanks.

Yes, heat treated like RacingBrake's UP rotors and DBA 4000, which is supposed to reduce brittleness.
