    Exclamation gearbox playing up

last nyt in the city i was driving my mates civic and once i tryed to reverse it would just rev up to 2 and a half grand but nt reversing.

neutral would put the da car into drive but der was no neutral (this is a auto gear box) the car wouldnt rev past 2 nd a half in park so i planted the accelerator at two and a half for bout a minute den it clicked nd started working again ...is the car still good to cruise around in or needs a new gear box ....
