More LED lights for the EURO...

Who has got Interior LED Lights for the Euro...
I have got the LED fever too.... DAMM YOU Stephen ! ! !

Ok, Where do I start, I ordered 2 different types of wedge bulbs to try, Narrow Angle and Wide Angle to see which one is better for one of the Tail Lights which runs on those (The one next to the Reverse Lights)..
I tried both versions and found that it was much dimmer than the OEM tungsten bulb. Why is that, the reason is simple, the reflector sits behind the bulb and with the Narrow Angle bulb, the point of the light comes out straight and therefore isn't reflected really well to the reflectors. The same goes with the Wide Angle bulb, it doesn't send the light backwards, only on a wider angle and thus the Wide Angle bulb didn't really work, my advice is to leave the OEM ones in..
Another thing, the car comes with another pair of Tail Lights which has an integrated brake light in it, meaning dual tungsten, so far, I haven't been able to find any LED with that feature and the 7440 LEDs didn't fit when I tried it ...
Lets get on with the rest then....
For the lights on the car doors, using Narrow or Wide Angle LEDs makes no difference except for the fact that with the Wide Angle bulb used, a bright white circle can be clearly seen on the clear plastic cover, I opted to use the Narrow Angle bulbs as it gives a more diffused glow...
Also with the boot light, I tried both Wide and Narrow Angle bulbs.. Didn't work for me, both aren't even strong enough to illuminate the boot... I stuck with the OEM one...
Same thing for the numberplate lights... OEM is still brighter than the LEDs, but I was too lazy and decided to go with the Narrow Angle ones as they glow better than the Wide Angle ones for the numberplate...
The Numberplate and Boot light's failure has got to do with the positioning of the bulb, if they were positioned better where the angle of the LED points in the right direction, it would have worked....
With the interior LED, here are the photos of more interior shots as well as how bright it luminates the interior of the car... I'm sure you have seen Stephen8512's photos... Here's more!

And when you put two of them LEDs in the front... This is how bright it can illuminate the interior at night...

For those who are wondering if the dimmer feature on the roof lights work on LEDs, tried it and yes, the LED dims...
Now to the Indicator Lights...
When installed, it is actually dimmer than the OEM ones but still works, reason is the same, the LED being a forward facing light, couldn't really reflect it off the reflector sitting behind the light but I reckon it's bright enough to be seen during the day, photos below...
Reverse Lights...
Because the lens on the Reverse Lights are clear, it's really bright, even during the day...

You can see that the Indicator LEDs might be dimmer than the OEM ones but it's still clearly visible...

And in darkness, the Indicator LEDs are not really Orange but it comes out in a sort of Pale Yellow Colour...

Don't have any of those, but last night I installed a pair of PIAA Tera LED's in my parkers!. You know they mean business when the LED has it's own built in ballast, and you have to wire in a resistor the size of a packet of lifesavers to make them work!

Thanks for all that Nick. Saves every1 else doing the same research. The map & reverse lights certainly look like the best to change.

You mean the name for the OEM Reverse Lights? I don't get ya

Have any of you done the brake light connection to deflectors on rear bumper??
I saw a white Euro with wide European plate the other night in Brisbane.. Aftermarket front and rear lips (Can't tell which brand). He must have LED or some sort installed behind the reflectors. They light up when brake.. Looks so cool!

7440 is the code if that's what you want... by Stanley by the way
