    EF8/9 Part numbers/Info/Owners Thread

Hey guys, thought i would make a thread containing part information and numbers for the imported EF8 CR-X and EF9 Civic. This is because honda is not too helpful when trying to find specific parts because they dont have these cars on record etc. Also to promote discussion of these models.

If you have part numbers or other info, please post them and i will add that info to this post.

    PART DESCRIPTION | PART NUMBER
Engine Oil- Standard Honda oil FEO 10w-30w | B1766
Oil filter- Standard Honda oil filter | 15400PLC004
Sump plug washer - Standard honda washer | 94109-14000
Radiator Coolant - Honda radiator coolant type 2 | B1801
Gearbox fluid - MTF Plus gearbox fluid 75-80w | B1766

Thermostat - From b16a2? | 19301-p08-316 (needs confirmation, there are multiple themostats for b16a2)
    Sump/oil pan gasket - From b16a2 | 11251-P30-004
Fuel filter - From 90 model concerto? | 16010-SH3-K51 (needs confirmation)

    WORKSHOP MANUAL INFORMATION

CR-X workshop manual can be accessed from www.honda.co.uk by going to the owners section. It also containts a vtec supplement which is relevant to EF8's and therefore EF9's. Also the 98 model integra manual may contain other useful information relating to bseries engines.

Are you able to cook up a list of what they came standard with and what was optional? What Australian delivered Hondas also came with a b16a1?

I guess i could as well as others.. This thread could get quite detailed.

The thing is though, no australian model came with a b16a (b16a1). They are all A2's. Hence it is difficult to know what part is needed because some are from b16a2's some b18a's even some other parts share with d series cars. So it would be good to have a reference. But anyway, go start a thread in the intro's/gallery about your car

    curious..

those workshop manuals are pretty good, it is a bit vague when it comes to areas of the engine so sometimes a manual from a different b series car is needed.. i would say it would be extremely hard to find a paper/hard copy..... got a fast printer?

Speaking of which, where's the speed sensor? Cause I can't see where it is looking from the top and I haven't bothered looking underneath yet because I'd have to do some car shuffling to jack the car up. Thanks

And I'll take up that request for the intro.

the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is located on the top..
i tried to take a pic of it but there is too many pipes in the way + it's too early

    i believe that maybe a picture of a b16a vss though /\

the sensor is a cable one opposed to an electric one

Is that picture from a EE8/9 (European)? The EF8 (Japanese) has the VSS in the gearbox whereas the European model retains the the VSS in the cluster as on Australian models.

Also pictured is the variable speed power steering which I thought was only available on Integras?

As I recall, the manuals referred to earlier are for the European models and don't include a lot of info...
    for example the climate control?
