    DC2R LSD Test

I know this has been asked a lot of times "do I have a LSD la de da...."

I need some honest clarification. If you don't know or have not experienced, please do not post.

I am a little confused about my DC2R (Integra Type R). As you know they all came with a LSD from factory.

I am sure we have all driven a car with an open diff and you can feel that inside tyre lighting up if you drop the clutch.

When I drive my car it always feels as though both fronts are driving.

But from this forum and others, people say "to test if you have a LSD", jack up the front of you car, spin one wheel and the other should do the same. Well in my case it does not do this. The other wheel just stays still.

Now is everyone talking BS or don't I have a LSD.

Please discuss and clarify. Even better if people with DC2R's can jack up their cars, tell me what your car does when you spin one wheel.

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure about that one. You might have to be in Gear. Cause i know i have LSD and when i do the spinning test the other does not spin either, but this is in neutral. So don't stress too much.

You can check if you can be bothered taking out your driveshaft and looking through the box.

or..... put your car on stand and put in gear and start it. If u can stop one wheel with your foot, it aint got LSD. Iknow my civic dont got it.

Put it in gear. When you spin one of the front wheels, the other wheel will spin the opposite way.

best way to check is to take out the drive shaft and have a look

you gearbox will also have LSD stamped on it with black writing

i did the same with dc2r.. jacked it up and spun the wheels. and the other wheel didnt spin..

then i read further on this forum. and it said that i needed to put it in gear.. so i jacked it up again. put it in gear.. and the other wheel spun the opposite direction..

SOo my guess.. try again and put it in gear.

Although.. i also did this in my mums auto corolla... and the other wheel spun the opposite direction.. SOo.. does that mean the new corollas hav LSD too???...

    no Corollas dont have LSD

its normal for type R to do that.

    you still have an LSD

FWD LSD design is different to RWD LSD

my gbox is standard from ek4. no LSD, and the wheel spins opposite direction. in neutral too.

the gearbox is stamped in BLACK letters LSD (the black letters are very hard to remove. usually on the top of your gbox). the serial number should start with S80-

    Ok, big thanks to everyone.

Conclusion is the best way is to take the driveshafts out. And the people who say "spin one wheel one way and the other should spin the same direction" in regard to Honda FWD LSD's as simply talking BS.

Thanks to everyone in this thread.
