DIY: Remove DC5 Door trim & Replace Power Window regulator

Disclaimer: The following is provided as a GUIDE ONLY, and neither myself nor Ozhonda take any responsibility for the outcomes of someone else doing the following. You follow these steps at your own risk!

    Aim:
To remove a DC5 door trim and also replace power window regulator. The cable that allows the window to go up and down decided to snap after 5 years and 2 months. 2 months after the warranty period and Honda will not replace.

A brand new power window regulator kit will cost $650.00 from Honda but I picked up this second hand one from a wrecker for $200.00

    Required:
    Phillips Head screw driver
    Flat Head screw driver
    Size 10 socket
    Masking tape

    Steps:

    1. Prepare yourself with a redbull

    Tools used:

    Removing the door trim:

    2. Inside the door handle, use a small flat head screw driver to pop the screw cover off

    3. Undo the 2 screws behind the cover that you just popped off

    4. Un-clip the cable that opens the door.. =p

    5. Undo the cable that you use to lock your doors with

    6. Undo the last screw found behind the door handle

    7. Pop off the switches by the method below

    8. Unplug the main control cable for the power windows

    9. Underneath the arm rest, there are 2 more screws

    10. Using your fingers grab under the door trim and pull gently. It’s all clips behind the trim

    11. Once you have popped all the clips out from the door trim and the door, push the door trim up to remove

    12. Using masking tape, tape up the window to ensure that it won’t side down while you’re working. You can do this step right at the beginning if you want.

    13. Roll up the plastic inner cover so you have room to work with

    14. On the left hand side, undo the 3 bolts that hold the power window motor. In the diagram below, I have already removed the motor.

Im just working here until a fast food job comes my way...
