    [DIY] S2000 JIC Suspension Installation

Disclaimer: The following is provided as a GUIDE ONLY, and neither myself nor Ozhonda take any responsibility for the outcomes of someone else doing the following. You follow these steps at your own risk!

    Nut Torque Values:

    Upper spring/shock assembly bolts = 36 ft-lb (49 N-m)
    Bottom spring/shock assembly bolt = 47 lb-ft (64 N-m)
    Upper Arm = 75.9 lb-ft (103 N-m)

Aim: Removal of stock suspension and installation of JIC coilovers

Required: Jacks, Jack stands, Socket Set

    Steps:

    1. If you have 4 jack stands, jack up the car and remove all the wheels if you only have 2, Jack up the front and use jack stands and remove front wheels like I did.

    2. Remove the bolt that secures the brake line to the stock shock.
    3. Remove the lower bolt that holds the shock to the suspension arm.

    4. Loosen the 2 top nuts (but don't remove yet)

    5. Remove 2 nuts on upper arm.

    6. Remove top nuts and remove spring/shock assembly
    7. Install front coilover assembly and install in reverse order. Don't torque bolts until you load the suspension then tighten as per torque setting above. Repeat on opposite side.

    Rear Suspension

    8. Remove the spare tire from the trunk. Remove interior lining till you get access to the top bolts of the rear suspension. Passenger side is a pita.

    9. Remove rear brace to get better access to the suspension. 2 bolts either side.
    10. Remove lower bolt from the shock.

    11. Remove upper nuts.

    12. Remove rear spring/shock assembly.
    13. Install rear coilover assembly and install in reverse order. Don't torque bolts until you load the suspension then tighten as per torque setting above. Repeat on opposite side.

    End result

    Other comments

Rear suspension assembly was missing 2 nuts. Brought 2 nuts and spring loaded washers.

I'll have to have a drive of your car in the future. See how the Jic's go. Ivan seems to really rate them, but I'm kinda hooked on PSS9 lol.

Not 100% sure what the spec's think it was F8/R10, can't quote how much you adjust them by, but the manual says it comes set a 1.25 - 1.5 inch drop in the box.

Lol yes Ivan talked me into it. The good thing is that I achieved the result I was after. The car is lowered and the suspension is a tad bit more aggressive IMO than stock.

    Mrkrooz & marky53 Thanks for the comp's
