I need some help guys.
So about 2 weeks ago, I picked up my car from repairs, and I noticed the horn doesn't work. Now the guy won't open for another two weeks, so should I wait for him to open back up and let him inspect it, or try to fix it myself? If so, does anyone have any clue as to where the horn might be located, would I need to take off the entire front bumper?
Cheers for the help guys.

Its on the passengers side just beneath the front reinforcement bar ... and yes you will probably need to take off the front bumper ...

Mugen "N-Spec"? ... mainly ebay dealers basically the side skirts and the back bumper are the same as the normal Mugen kit, but the front lip is designed for the face lift.
Although he isn't a site sponsor (anymore) Leonardy at JDMConcept (ordered from him before, fantastic service) might be able to sort something for you. Or you can try JDM Yard ... I'm just not a fan of them.

Yeah they're too weak. I was this close to getting them in 17x9.5 +18 which would set your car off perfectly.
I run spacers on the front, have been for 18 months or more. I suggest you get 2 sets of 20mm.
Problem with rpf1s is that until they get 9inches wide and around +20 offset the faces look soft.

Only thing thats stopping me from going aggressive is because i take a full load quite often. I was thinking around 10-15mm of 2 sets. What brands of spacers you running Duffy? Eibachs are heaps good but a but pricey. At the moment im running 215/45 tyres and i think i should switch to 215/40 when i do get the spacers.

Hey guys quick question on wheel fitment. I've read the EP3/FN/FD wheel setup thread and still need a bit of confirmation.
I'm looking to get 18x9 + 32 wheels for my FD. Planning to lower to about 1 finger gap on Buddyclub C N+ coilovers soon. Will I run into scrubbing issues with 225/40 kumho KU31 tyres? I'm looking at these tyres because they meet the minimum load rating. I'm aware that I'll need a bit of guard work (front and rear?) but will that completely eliminate scrubbing?
Thanks!

My x-force.. This was on a fd1 with a fd2r rear bumper.. If u want to fit it on fd1 with stock rear bumper, mods need to b made for clean fitment as fd2r muffler openin is more to the right
simmy
18-01-2013, 11:57 AM
how about on a standard fd1 bumper with and without a rear lip?
what type of mods are you talking about? like hacking the rear bar or getting longer rubbers so it hangs slightly lower
JOhnnyFD
18-01-2013, 12:09 PM
Mods would b better done on the muffler rather than on the bumper.. The flanges prob need to b relocated and mayb the pipe to b recut.. Muffler shop can do this for ya

Hey guys, I need an option on what will looks nicer. My wheels are 18x8.5+30 & I'm after a new set of tyres.
1. 225/40R18
2. 215/45R18
Which one will have a nicer looking fitment? I'm guessing the 215/45 will have a better stretch?
hencanwa
19-01-2013, 01:03 PM
235/40/18 will look kinda square, 225/40/18 will look slightly stretch , 215/45 stretch for look and comfort ill take 225 40

I have the buddyclub catback on my FD2. I also have the mugen rear lip and its melting it gradually. This is because my exhaust is designed for the US model and thus sits a bit shorter. I'm going to fix it by getting the exhaust cut, extended and then rewelded. Hope this helps in any way.
Heyalan: go for 215/40 IMO.

Anyone ever thought of replacing the stock horn? I've been meaning to switch to an Accord Horn, but no idea where to source one, nor install it! (Yes I'm a newbie with a FD).
xenonkuraz
20-01-2013, 10:26 PM
I replaced mine with two Hella Supertones. Sounds just like the Euro horn (maybe even louder).
eBay 'Hella Supertones' and all you have to do is remove the stock horn (behind the bumper) and wire the new ones in, 30-60min job for a novice.

Simpson, its Prak your bros friend
Hmmm from what I saw on my car, there's a small hole under the car which leads to the spare tyre area and you follow it to the cables where the brake lights work.
Or if you want go to the auto electrician at meadows rd (corner) and they can install for ya for 88bux

The car feels like it has considerably more torque in the mid range, and revs much more freely :), Sounds deep and throaty on low revs, and extremely loud and high pitched on high revs. Overall great mod, recommended !!

heya dude. I've tried a few different setups.
first one was apexi power intake. felt like that didn't have enough surface area and was bogging hard all the time.
second setup was bmc cda with cold air snorkel to front bar. car didn't bog at all but couldn't hear da flutterz n turbo spools :(
current setup is open pod again but with the one that came with the kit - similar to a 3a pod with big surface area. lengthened my intake pipe close to the headlight (relocated my battery) to get the maf as far away from the turbo as possible and now its running sweet.
had a couple runs against an s15 today on private race track and boy was i blown away...by how fast my car is. both times we did rolling start drop to 3rd gear pull and instantly my car would pull 2 lengths ahead and stay ahead the whole time. maxed out 4th gear at 175kph. unsure of mods on s15 but it looked pretty decked out.

I've tried the external one and bolted the lip on aswell, without the tape it sags abit,
also noticed that the horn doesn't work no more, but never touched anything else but swap the foggie loom to the mugen bumper
if you need help ill come by, hmmm should work with tape, gotta hold it for a min or 2
the horn, maybe you disconnected it by accident

Simmy if you can take the bumper off the car for a day or over night, apply the tape, then apply a heat gun over it gently to warm the adhesive further, also don't be stingy with the tape, lather that bum up nomsaying also clean the surface properly with adhesive promoter or wax and grease remover.

I believe you have to relocate the horn, unscrew and place it in a different spot. One of my mate had to relocate, however another mate's one was fine.

personally rail fabrication would be preferable in turn of a decrease in air bags, and possible defect from having the light showing

Yeah, don't wanna dump it. CBF maneuvering over humps. I do however wanna give it some negative camber without impacting too much on ride height. Trying to figure out that sweet spot of camber. Is that even possible? Any advice?

Camber is used for better handling on the track or fitting rims under guards because stance|works.
if you're keeping that height then i wouldn't bother as it will just wear your tyres out unevenly.
you also cannot adjust camber without the relevant camber tops which usually come with aftermarket coilovers
I like the cr kai the most lol.

Welcomeee! :) My rims are XXR 530s!
Works CR Kais, or if you want something lighter, Enkei PF01, then plasti-dip them white.
I plastidipped my XXRs are they are seriously the worst to clean, all the dirt gets like stuck inside and no matter how hard I scrub it doesn't come off!! :( I wanna get them powder coated, or just get rid of them hahaha
Oh and Johnny, how'd you go with installing the springs??
black8thgen
20-02-2013, 09:56 PM
never get white rims that are multi spoked. The furthest i'd go are white te37s.. any more spokes such as ce28 and you get back pains and headaches tryna clean that shit lolol... and then two days later back to grey.. i had white xd9s and it was a mission to clean well... not to mention how dirty the inner part of the wheel gets and good luck cleaning that without some degreaser of some sort T_T...
Cleaning my wheels makes me want to rage quit life. hahahahha i dont even bother anymore LOL!

Personally, those rims are not worth getting at that price and condition. The width and offset are a bit weak for a FD
Also white rims are a bitch to clean.
