got covered in grass hoppers >.<
Fitted a JVC EXAD 2 DVD headunit I got off ebay for $200.
lol... haven't posted on here for a while... lets see a week ago it got hail damaged in the storms in logan in Brisbane, then Monday I took it to the assessors and it was written off, and then Tuesday I took the short ram air intake and pod filter off it coz insurance doesn't know about it... and now i'm trying to sell the rims and go back to stockies because I'm not paying shit loads for tyres when its a write off lol... and possibly just gonna get stripped...
PS - if anyone has any stockies with decent tread (14" - 4 x 100) let me know... I want...
Purchased some tein flex type street coilovers and some electric spoon side mirrors :D
i envy you guys who have money to splurge on ur car.... :(
add a new layer of clear coat to my grill, since it started to fade off a bit.... looks much shinier now, an matches the cars gloss
almost got hit by an undercover cop car chasing another car...
Ah one day you will find the right job so u can splurge on your ride to :D and purchased from a suspension warehouse mate :)

not a fan of drift gauges, but were did u relocate ur head unit? looks good like that, an non defective
i cant talk man, anythings thats cheap ill take it LOL.....
I think i mite do the same thing next year...better than having pillar gauges or gauges sitting above the dash board
just got some Advan rims.
Also got a Carbon fibre hood, its got a grill cut in it, Just cutting it back abit cos th CF is abit faded.
My new year's project.
dropped a b18r in my ek coupe got it back this week ..couldnt be more hapier :D ...
am now in search for ek9 rails to put the recaros i have into my car :(
Picsorban vti_boi :P I washed, waxed, vacuumed, cleaned up surface rust AND did an oil change on the EG today :D
Bought ek9 carpet :)
i got over it completely today
lol very true.. but as soon those who give the car a go and have to suddenly brake for something they will feel how unsafe the car is and try to upgrade their brakes asap lol ! i've never felt this though lol i upgraded brakes same time XD
possibly the wrong section to put this in, but i'm reverting my EG back to stock... so thats what i'm currently doing to my car... but does anyone in Brisbane have a set of steelies to suit an EG that they're willing to part with for money lol... i wanna sell my rims...
Looked at my EM1 next to me, all sad and un-loved while i installed a headunit and front lip + Front splitter onto the e30.
mods today: washed it.
also came to the realisation that i wont ever upgrade if i dont part it out, so i'm gonna revert the car back to stock this weekend (recaros, floormats, gearboot, P1's etc) not sure if i cbf to do the tein coilovers, might sell'em with the car...hmmm....
replaced front rubber mats with new carpets ones from supercheap :)
Can't bring myself to use the original Civic ones which have never been used - put them in garbage bags for storage under house - i'm strange lol
went to check out a turbo kit for a eg civic d16... my god it pulls, even with 3 ppl!!!!... Definate gonna go turbo d-series in the near future... haters are gonna hate.. b-series eat this LOL... jks jks
Was a greddy kit with TD04 turbo... But im thinkin imma do ma own kit with nissan T25G turbo, more boost :D
Oh wow! - you're really going for it huh lol ;)
Just don't ruin ur experience of driving it, I mean the Civic has to be one of the best mass produced front wheel drive cars made - wasn't really engineered to have a turbo, Civics live for dynamics, balance, handling not straight out hp - I mean was your mate really going to be able to get all that power down anyway...
A DC2R engine would be a better alternative imo if you even go ahead with it - I remember watching a Best Motoring DVD on the CTR and the head of Spoon was saying if he could make any modification it would be to fit the 1.8 DC2R engine :)
thought about getting Zerg boot dampers so my wing (about 3kg with stands it's a heavy bugger) doesn't potentially smash my tail lights every time I close the lid
Oh yea 100% agree with you there... but i cant justify ever speading heaps, an cheapest alternative to give any car a boot is a mouth full of boost... power wise, getting power down is really no issue, just depends on few other factors, tires, suspension an Driver... With a turbo kit, good suspension setup, id say it be as good as any other b18 swapped civic out there, an most important, cheapest :D
Even my stock d-series atm, cai an cat back is wheel spining a bit doin a 4000rpm launch...(controlled enironment) 1st gear, but than again, its down to the driver lol
Sick of hearing ppl saying go B-series this an that, ppl who tend to say stuff like that obvious hasnt been in a boosted d-series, nor to even think about it... Its been proven in the states, an now iev had 1st hand experience, im convinced now lol
do it man, itll be good to c another boosted D in melb
It all depends on the complete setup. Turbo d is a great alternative to na b because its a little cheaper and goes just as hard. My mate's turbo eg is on 12 pound making 143kw at the treads no wheels spin nothing comes onto boost at 2 and a half all the way through its amazing

in a few years, i wouldn't mind turbo/supercharging me D, i'd rather the supercharger :) either that or buy a new car but i love my civic
my mate was tryna find a jacksons racing super charger kit, no luck, an id imagine it be a bitch to install, an $$$$, i remeber ages ago there was one kit for sale, for d-series ,no idea were it went to
yea i looked on the Jackson racing site a while back... they have superchargers for K's but none for D's :/
Also bought Kicker DS600.2 splits for my fronts :)
its very rare to find a D super charge, mainly for Bs and Ks.
but to super charge a D wouldnt gain very much, as a turbo would
yea, as a daily, its good, low to mid range power band, cant complain, but top end, turbo will win, an price wise lol
yea, it seems that way :( i've seen B's, K's, H's and F's superchargers
I actually thought supercharging was a good idea too, cause the Civics don't have much low-end mid-range punch, which for me, is where most of my driving is done - i don't go too high end (ie above 6k - feel so guilty LOL!) - i guess there aren't many people who power up d series engines, hence why manufacturers don't make too many of them...
I wonder which would win in a sprint to 100... mmm...
How much do you think (just kinda ball park) - for a) B series b) turbo c) super
turbo kits at least $5k + install?
well, more of a 1/4 mile but just found this - silver coupe is d series supercharged, green hatch is turbocharged
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL7KQ3EA_ao
looks like the D Series use the M45 JR supercharger kits: http://www.revscene.net/forums/fs-ja...-t341772.html?
Available: http://www.capa.com.au/eaton_m45data.htm
turbo d-series u can do for 1.5k all up, including a tune... should net u around 120 - 145kw
My mate is gonna buy a greddy kit, with no injectors or piggy back...all up...
Turbo kit = 700
injectors = 300
Tune (hondata S100) = 600
Thats a bloody cheap kit man would be a little worried about quality. Also your mate already has a Hondata, which other people most likely will not have especially if they have a d banger so you'll have to factor that in. Also you'll have to factor in brake upgrades and mod plate monies as well to make it all legal haha its never that cheap. Does the kit include intercooler n piping?
yeh, i was going to say brake upgrade too but sounds very cheap that's for sure - I thought they were more like $5k.
But guess it's like a never ending story doing that sort of work brakes incl new master cylinder, clutch, gearbox, turbo timer, fuel rail, i don't know maybe stronger fuel pump, reliability issues - do you have enough cash to back yourself up if/when something goes wrong/needs fixing - I think this is most people's biggest mistake - tho not saying it's yours lol - but they pay for the upgrade and then there's nothing left in the kitty to fix it when something happens... could be like a big black whole once you start
...not that I want to deter you or nothing, would be fantastic to see a d series turbo build, just need to think it right through ;)
If you can get 120 - 145kws for that money, on a D series, that is even slightly re-liable/driveable/useable power, I will eat my own hat.
I have never been in a D series turbo but to be honest for around 5k getting the b18c type r swap with the ITR gearbox is money well spent. Just gotta worry about engineers cert etc then...
Went to Honda and got a new cv boot installed under warranty as the last one split after only a few months.
I think its just the conception that any N/a goin to turbo will be utterly expensive an have high risks of blowing up... i guess if more ppl start to do it, ppls perception might change, an cheap, not everyone has money, hence why its cheap lol... who says u have to have lots of money to make a good car
On a eg5, all u need are decent pads, an that should do the job, as far as reliabilty, all comes down to if u take short cuts or not.... with the greddy kit, its been proven too last, so thats more than enough to proof its reliabilty, but with any mods, theres a risk of failure, regardless of N/a or force induction
I cant wait to see what reults he can net, the car we checked out only ran 99kw O_o
bit low, but he had a really crappy tune, running rich, timing out etc etc... just goes to show that to get the best outta anything, a good tune is the way to go
B18c is a good investment, but just like goin boost really, need brakes to back it up, an whole host of other things to balance it out.... its easy to do swaps/boost but its the little things that will make it even better :)
Mugen_ctr you're completely right however i never had the conception of an NA car being expensive and with high risks of blowing up. My mate is running a stock B18c SIRG motor on just over 10 pounds of boost, has been for ages its been tracked and everything and its still fine. And DNYALL the eg i've been in like i said made 143kw at the treads and that is easily achievable for 5 grand from start to finish (Providing you do everything you can yourself) however at the end of the day is 5 grand really worth it on a d banger? plus if the car was ever put up for sale it would be hard as to find a buyer because its boosted, most people who can drive boosted cars go with rwd or awd. at the end of the day its all about what the person wants to do and how much money they have to do it with. if they just want to do something fun like boost a stock d banger for a good price they should do it, but realise that shit will get expensive fast if they want more power, and because NA is more reliable than boost so that 5 grand for a b18c swap would be much more worth it imo. Having driven both and owned the latter thats my 2 cents
did someone say, cars blowing?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO5z9...layer_embedded
i would hate that to happen, if i got a turbo/supercharged car...
guys better keep it on track its no got nothing to do with what u did to ur eg/ek anymore.
^^ crazy vid id hate that to happen to me
back to it, got some new fenders for the EK ready to be sanded
haha yea it got off topic a bit.
Should be installing my new splits today :)
is it better to replace the whole drive shaft than just the one boot? i read some where thats its better to replace the whole shaft than just one boot :S
always check your oil filter after a change + test run - found my Purolator Pure One oil filter had come loose... lucky
went out an brought some cv boot, now the long wait till monday wen some can install it :(
Gave it a clean.
Put on some OEM wheels.

Got a Pedders 28 point suspension and brake check (only $14) - all good, signs of slight cracking in rear trailing arm bush, but nothing to worry about :)
Utter fail today tryna take out the RHS drive shaft..... Took out the Fork bolt, tried taking out the Lower control arm ball joint... the thing wouldnt move, bashed the crap outta it....gave up... moved onto the next thing, taking off the disc an hub, tried taking off the disc but two little philps head were stuck in firm bolts are too stuck on, or siezed... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU....................
Will try again another day
the lower control arm needs to be bashed harder. it will budge eventually.....and as for the hub bolts a sharp tool (thick too...not sure what its called) and hit the outside of the bolt on a angle anti clockwise with a hammer.
that should budge it. sorry hard to explain LOL
far seems were not trying hard enough lol..... shiiit... looking at the tutorial, it seems easily! only got upto step 8
