Just don't ruin ur experience of driving it, I mean the Civic has to be one of the best mass produced front wheel drive cars made - wasn't really engineered to have a turbo, Civics live for dynamics, balance, handling not straight out hp - I mean was your mate really going to be able to get all that power down anyway...
A DC2R engine would be a better alternative imo if you even go ahead with it - I remember watching a Best Motoring DVD on the CTR and the head of Spoon was saying if he could make any modification it would be to fit the 1.8 DC2R engine
Oh yea 100% agree with you there... but i cant justify ever speading heaps, an cheapest alternative to give any car a boot is a mouth full of boost... power wise, getting power down is really no issue, just depends on few other factors, tires, suspension an Driver... With a turbo kit, good suspension setup, id say it be as good as any other b18 swapped civic out there, an most important, cheapest
Even my stock d-series atm, cai an cat back is wheel spining a bit doin a 4000rpm launch...(controlled enironment) 1st gear, but than again, its down to the driver lol
Sick of hearing ppl saying go B-series this an that, ppl who tend to say stuff like that obvious hasnt been in a boosted d-series, nor to even think about it... Its been proven in the states, an now iev had 1st hand experience, im convinced now lol

It all depends on the complete setup. Turbo d is a great alternative to na b because its a little cheaper and goes just as hard. My mate's turbo eg is on 12 pound making 143kw at the treads no wheels spin nothing comes onto boost at 2 and a half all the way through its amazing

in a few years, i wouldn't mind turbo/supercharging me D, i'd rather the supercharger either that or buy a new car but i love my civic

-

its very rare to find a D super charge, mainly for Bs and Ks.
but to super charge a D wouldnt gain very much, as a turbo would

yea, as a daily, its good, low to mid range power band, cant complain, but top end, turbo will win, an price wise lol
-
yea, it seems that way i've seen B's, K's, H's and F's superchargers

I actually thought supercharging was a good idea too, cause the Civics don't have much low-end mid-range punch, which for me, is where most of my driving is done - i don't go too high end (ie above 6k - feel so guilty LOL!) - i guess there aren't many people who power up d series engines, hence why manufacturers don't make too many of them...
I wonder which would win in a sprint to 100... mmm...
How much do you think (just kinda ball park) - for a) B series b) turbo c) super
turbo kits at least $5k + install?
