I thought you are driving EP3 as well. My Bad...:p

Kongfu why can't you just give a reasonable explanation of your various comments and claims?
It's not being smartass or rude, just asking for some explanation.
Is that unfair?
LOL I dont even know him.
You obviously don't realise how many people think you are stupid.
But keep posting more crap on the forums.
People will just rpely to you as needed.
have a question about coil overs and don't want to get involved in the the slagging so here goes.
i think coilovers have been covered before but can't find it. after a few issues am able to get any tein coilovers for a much reduced price. I do the odd bit of track work but mainly street driving but don't mind a shuddering ride, was thinking super street at the moment, is it worth extra money for mono flex?
Ok on same Dyno, different days tho!
Stock EP3 (Supersteve) - 120KW
My EP3 with Toda headers, 2.5 exhaust and SRI - 128KW
If thats any indication. Again I stress that headers arent about end power! Its been said over and over again. Most likely gains is response and mid range.
So yes end gain is low, but if you super impose the lower to mid ranges you'll see that there are benefits.
Alot of people only seem to have the opinion that if it dont make power, its crap. Clearly not the case!
I dont think i will take my modifications any further then I/H/E so would a hondata really be worthwhile? i cant justify spending another grand on top...
lol please dont get this thread closed guys this is my life ! !
Ok within next 2 weeks im going to b purchasing just the toda exhaust system which hopefully will just bolt onto my jdm headers and cat. I will provide dyno results asap. (Later on down the track i will b upgrading the headers and the cat just cant afford at the moment)
Original Stock Dyno - 119.3kw at the wheels
Dyno with my Gruppe M - Will be done b4 the exhaust is installed
And then ill give a overall result after exhaust installed aswell as response and yadda dadda ! ! I CANT WAIT FINALLY ! ! !
how much is the toda catback? i eagerly await your results/findings professor steve! lol
Heres a indication of gain from a Hondata ECU.
Pics from Hondatech!
it looks like the Hondata is worth every $$ it cost just on the mid range gain alone.
Am I counted as a tuner if I put tuned maps onto the ecu?
I mean I aint technically tuning anything on a dyno or road, just chucking on a map onto the ecu.
So in relation to your comment, you don't need a tuner to get power out of the kpro.
Obviously though it won't be as much power compared to a proper tune lol
Whos aid I was using a tuned map on my car? lol
I was just using it as a reference.
i guess it's fair to say you need both (tuner + ECU) to do the trick?
rest the case lol
no, you need a good tuner lol.
it's down to super streets or mono flex for me at the moment. Looking like super streets though unless can justify the extra...what you guys think?
Yeah depends what you really want from them.
SS if you not interested in circuit.
Monoflex if you planning on tracking the car.
Also SS is single perch height adjust.
At least with the monoflex you get dual adjust..
Also mono got microspeedvalve
i do light track atm but will do more later on but don't want to spend and get SS then realise should have gotten mono.
What do you mean by single perch height adjust compared to dual? mono only allows a max of 15mm drop at rear compared to SS which is like 25mm, that's not an issue though for me as not looking to really lower it or anything.
See how the height is adjusted with the SS.There is only one set of locking perches
http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/3...rstreetmf1.jpg
Now see with the mono the height adjustment is independent of the spring perch

ahhh i follow now. might have to have a think then and weigh up benefits v cost etc. would you think mono flex is a marked improvement over SS?
thanks for help
Since you said you track already and maybe more later on then the Mono would be the better option.
SS are marketed as the name suggests, being great for daily driving with height adjustment and not too harsh.
Most people say the SS spring rates are too soft for track work.
See if you can ride in a car with each coilover and see which you prefer.
Also hopefully someone on here has first hand experience with them to give more feedback.
I had ss on my DC2R, I was very happy with them, car was mainly street driven, couple of times I went to track and I think they performed well (much better than my driving skills hehe), I found them very good for my needs so yeah.
Anyway how much for SS for EP3??
I don't have EP3 yet but should very soon, so was just wondering
Fark thats pretty cheap when compared to few years ago
Same here but in 06
I will definitly
Anyone here knows where you can get EP3R centre caps locally?
tomorow I got meeting with my broker, I hope it wan't take too long to find one, I prefer white or black but will see, year prob 02-03
i got my rm-01a fitted today, yet to take it for a good drive but car sounds great and feels better from what i could tell.
typercivic get some dyno charts if u can :D:D so we can compare when i get my toda installed. because we both go gruppe m's b good to see what different power we both get
i got a feeling mayb the fujitsubo might give more gains then the toda
kongfu - thanks, will give a better review when drive it more.
Steve, will do, hoping for this saturday if not sometime during next week. I was thinking the toda might have but went with rm due to wanting a quiet one etc
hey typercivic are u just going to bolt ur rm01a straight to ur jdm cat ?? or u gonna get a hi flow cat installed ??
Steve, was done today, just bolted to jdm cat. Will get a high flow cat done later on by itself or probs just with header at the same time.
yeah thats what im gonna do aswell typercivic, ill get the hi flow cat the same time i upgrade my headers :D
but yeah i hope ur happy with ur exhaust hehe another mod done to ur car whats next mate ?
yeh i am really happy with it from what i have driven so far but can't see that changing. the welds on it are spot on, everything about it is great. the resonator in the middle isn't like some cheap brands where they just put a flap in it which reduces the effective piping of it by a lot to make it quieter either.
mmm thinking it will be superstreet coilovers next, then the plan is to leave the car for awhile, that's the plan anyway ha ha. how about you? when you thinking the exhaust is going to happen?
nice man :D well good to hear ur happy with the exhaust. Yeah ill get the exhaust done within hopefully next couple of weeks i just gotta get some free time so busy lol but yeah ill put up details of outcome when it all gets done to compare :D
Hey guys, I have a Cusco front strut brace and a M&M rear strut brace for sale, pm if interested....pls note Cusco wont clear GruppeM!
Re: Sussy, the SS should be ok for the occasional track....eg...a few time a year. I had the SS in my GTR and mate had the next Spec up from that in his, dont know if it was a mono or not?. He'd always say that my car was a little better riding than his and it was just a good all round shock.
if you don't intend to drop the car too low, SS will be perfect for mainly street + occasional track.
if you want to slam it, MF might be a bigger idea becos you can change your ride height independently from the spring/shock travel.
Boys from today my broker should start hunt for my EP3 hehe, me very happy hehe
pre face, it's gonna be 02-03 model prob in white with around 50000km, same broker that imported ep3 for typercivic
it won't be hard to find your spec Malenic. Good luck.
I'm pretty happy with the way this broker works and value for money should be pretty good, for the price of aus DC5R with close to 100000km i should have JDM EP3 with half of kms plus better performance
^ exactly why i got mine and more practical too lol
