how many stickers? fuuuuu must be a fast car.
seen an ep with heaps of spoon stickers on the rears. plenty kwatw's brah
hay guys has anyone got a shift boot laying around they want to get ride of pm :)
Hey guys, I'm at a bit of a crossroads, I'm wondering what sort of power we can get out of the EP3's? I know that they arent bad from factory, but I do love civics, and am wondering with pretty reasonable mods, I/H/E, KPRO, a good tune (hipower?) maybe some more mods? what sort of figures I could expect?
If you're gonna use Hipower to do the mods for you, then its best to ask them....
Generally speaking;
Stock: 115-120kwatw
I/H/E: 125-130kwatw
Many brands out therein all three combos, but will all net you similar gains. Not gonna get into a brand battle here about which is best. You'd expect to spend anywhere between $2000-$4000 varying from used/new etc....
I/H/E KPRO/HALTEC: 130-140kwatw
Properly tuned and there is lots to gain mid range. $2000-$2500 depending on dealer/tuner, used/new etc....
CAMS: 140-150kwatw
Again, many brands to choose here. $1500-$3000 fitted. Some will need supporting mods like H/D tensioner, valve springs, retainers etc add $200-$1500 on top.
After this you'd be expecting to open the wallet for a build. Like a stroker kit, K24, turbo or supercharger. Argument is endless so don't start on whats best.
My best advice is work to a budget and with a builder/tuner or you may be very disappointed.
$_$ glad i stopped at i/e then bought a bike which took a whole in my savings =(
hey guys, i have sqeaking noise beneath my seats when i turn in the car, anyone had it before? just some wd-40?
new question!
I love my civic, but was passenger in an integra the other day and loved the feel of it, seats lower, better handling etc, im wondering, can we get custom seat rails? and how much of a distance does coilovers or a decent suspension set up make to the ep3? dc2r/dc5r comparable?
Matt rps13 has a ep3 thread which he keeps updating and i recently saw him do a rail swap and it was a good 5cm drop which is pretty lowwwww, its in the introductory forum. The suspension is pretty good i reckon from factory, the dc2r is a rawer car than the 5r/ep, nearly went deaf in my mates dc2r on the hwy and couldnt even hear the radio lol.
B-series VTEC sound > K-series VTEC sound imho. Much more agressive crossover!
K-series VTEC sound > B-series VTEC sound! Cause it doesn't need sound to be fast!
Me around the track:

God you lot are like d series owners. All talk of mods n power but hardly anyone ever actually races or drags !
My radio control car > All Hondas
blue or white ? cant remember lol. Anyway 'twas the good times.
so why is Luke still going crap with the same mods and a slower 60ft lol
Anyone else hate how the engine bay is extremely cramped? :p
Attempting to adjust headlights - could someone please post a picture of the nut which I'm supposed to turn? Had a search but couldn't find anything. The ones on international forums seemed different?
yes the bay is too tight man, stubby fingers :( ,built for the jap hands!
Yup no room man. I was planning to fit a oil catch tank but realised there is no decent room to mount the thing.
you 2 make me laugh.. do yonot remember this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8V4cmqmXK8
hi,
i was just wondering, for the ep3r, can i use the motul type 2 LSD gear oil 75W90 for the gearbox? reason i ask, on the motul recommend book, its says 80W90 for the gearbox, but motul dont have it for sale.
also it's better to use 10w40 or 5w40 for the engine oil?
thanks for any advis
no gud brother, the gb oil from motul is alittle too hardcore my suggestion is castrol syntrans i think it was 75w something, running that in mine and its very smooth and quick. however engine oil ive stuck to motul 10w40 300v felt a big difference when i first had that put in compared to the anglomoil 10-40. my $0.02
For the Motul gearbox oil, that grade is fine. Theres not much difference in the 75 or 80 since its only for cold start or winter temperatures. I am using 75w90 motylgear oil and it needs to be warm up a little bit before normal use. You can avoid this with Honda MTF because those motul oils are design for more of a racing use.
5w30 is more suited for sportier cars like ours but you can go for a thicker grade like 10w40 for summer.
i am more prefer motul 10w 40, as i use it in my b18, happy with it, but not sure should i use 5w40 or not, as car will be daily and will no be use on drag or track. 5w40 is what the book recommend
has anyone had to get a new set of keys before?
if so what did you do?
anybody reckon i could use a DC5 injen intake in our car with a little bit of modification? lol a friend of mine has a spare one lying around and i was wondering if it was even worth trying.
Honda will say...did you bring your credit card with lots of credits?
or you can go to a locksmith and they can re-key your door lock which will in turn be the same as the ignition etc....ring around, you'll be surprised at the price variations!
Hard way to learn about only having 1 key huh?
its hard having 1 key too well i trusted my sister to mind it for me at the store incase my car ever goes off and im not around, been looking for that spare key and remote for months now...
oem gbox oil isnt that bad imo. I use it everytime i tracked and it held up nicely
+1 on lukezen being a cool guy. just saying.
no heterosexuality intended at all.
has anyone had to bust open into their drivers side door?
i noticed there are 3 screws on the end is that all thats needed to open the door and access the lock?
There's likes 2-3 screws when you take the silver cover off, pull the under handle off and there's 3-4 screws. Once you've gotten that out unclip the bottom first working your way up the sides. Unplug the window switch, push the plastic lock out so you can take the metal cable up.
ep3 wheel, does anyone has the wheel on their ep3r with 8.5 and +30? how does it look?, do u need to work on something to make the wheel fit nicely?
I've played around with 17 8.5+35 love it, clears full steering lock both sides and sits pretty good on stock height. However you'll have to get your guards rolled if lowered more than an inch or two.
Damo did you manage to get the door off?
Hey guys, I love s2krazy's wheels he's selling, 17" Gold Advan RG's
Here are the specs
17 x 7.5 +48
17 x 8.5 +50
5x114.3
Now I'm pretty sure the offset won't work? Am I right? I love the design and colour, Ann ep3 friendly alternatives?
I know the stud pattern is fine but
17x8 +37 (unknown tyre size)
http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1297165878
17x8.5 +32 (205/40's)

http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1297166411
well our offset is 45 stock, i'd personally go for an offest 30<x<40 for abit of lip :) , too low you might have clearance issues?
Spotted my old EP3 today in botany. Has purple rims. I want another one lol
door window seals.. anybody got the hookup?
stock wheels are 7" wide +45, so being 7.5 or 8.5 means the extra width needs to go either inside, outside or a combination of both. this depends on the offset.
8.5 + 50 means 24mm less inside clearance and extended 14mm on the outside. not sure if it will clear the suspension on the inside since the stock front coil spings are huge. you might want it for the back tho.
7.5 + 48 means 9mm less inside and 3mm more outside which isn't a huge improvement over stock.
