I usually get around 450km per tank as well. I guess if I drive a little spiritly then it would be slightly less.
I used to get closed to 600km, when I had intake and cat back.
Now get around 560-580km, with gruppe m, headers, hi-flow cat and exhaust. 80% freeway km's, with moderate to heavy foot and vtec.
In inner city suburbs and 10-20% freeway driving I get around 440-460km when the light just comes on. Minimal use of vtec. So maybe just under 500km if I were to squeeze a bit more out of it.
damn you guys amaze me! ive never got more than 380 from the first day i bought my car
First of all, there is no need to call people dicks, if your little backyard garage ego has been hurt no need to run around insulting people.
There is no need for me to dispel any myth. First of all standard fuel economy with the EP3 is 400-500km that is fine for that car. Anything under that is very high mileage.
You also tell people to run an ECU for a K20A2 engine in a K20A? Isnt there some differences in compression in those two engines?
People let you fix (or explode) their cars?
Come on guys break it up!!!!
Hmmm break
_______________ _______________ ops I did it again
I was getting around 640 Klm a tank on 98 pump petrol as a daily drive until the dreaded primary O2 sensor went to -36 volts :(
Now I am lucky to get 500. But thanks to Gav at IMG a new sensor is on it its way at a most excellent price and hopefully it will arrive here in Butt#@$%Idaho (townsville) by Friday. Also 2 new headlights, yeah baby. Screw you Kangaroos..
Ive seen a few new denso ones for around $150 on amazon
Hey everyone....
i've got a small issue with my car while breaking. not sure what it is and i dont think its an actual problem
when i break and just before my car comes to a stop, i hear like a clicking sound coming from the rear area of my breaks.
doesn't always comes and probably 2 or 3 times out of 5.
whether it's gentle breaking and hard, it sometime hear it.
was wondering anyone has this problem and know what it is..
everytime i get my car services, they go my breaks are fine and while i drive, there isn't issue/problem with the car except for the annoying sound..
oh and i drive an ep3-r, just incase u guys need to know
I get that too, under hard braking only
And I assume you drive one. Or you wouldn't be asking that question here right?
At first I though it was the brake lines
Idk anymore
Will be heading down to BYP for a service soon so I'm not worried
Remember this
Ep3 like a lot of performance Hondas have little sound deadening. As well as stuff suspension.
Might simply be hearing normal mechanical operation but it sounds a lot clunkier and mechanical than another car
Idk about the clicking but I'll let you know. Afaik your mechanic should have already covered it if it was a problem. My one checks everything on every single service
Had this problem too, I took my calipers off and cleaned the pads and pistons and the problem went away, left my garage floor black from all that brake dust lol...maybe it was a sticking caliper or something.
Try taking it off and giving them a clean with brake cleaner. You don't have to take the brake fluid hoses off, it should be the same procedure as just changing your pads. I also painted my brakes whilst I was at it :\
Try this: http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=643475
It's for the DC5 but its pretty much the same with the EP3 and most other cars.
Basically, jack car up, take wheel off, remove two bolts and it should come off. Putting it back is just reverse. Hardest part is just getting those bolts off, may help to turn your wheel to one side. Make sure when you assemble it back, that those bolts are tightened to specs (or just really tight...)
Oh and you shouldn't need to push the piston back in unless your changing your pads.
There are some weird cracking sound coming from my engine bay at low speed. usually happens when the car is still then begin to move. not sure where it is coming from :/ everything feels the same
Also which brand of engine mount you guys recommend? Mugen at $500 or J racing at $520 (jdmconcept) price
Thanks alot!
Info is in here: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...-steering-rack
just wanted to ask guys if this is the correct O2 sensor for the EP3? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C5WCLS/...0_pd_re_dt_dt2
Would it be recommended to replace the secondary O2 sensor at the same time?
Lol I just worked with the motor in the way, just get some pliers and maybe wire cutters and pry that metal clip off, then use zip ties or a large hose clamp to close it. For the right side you do have to take the intake off, but if you have a CAI then probs not
Hey guys,
Anyone know the part numbers for primary and secondary o2 sensors for our ep?
Primary o2 sensor OEM part number: 36531-PRB-A01 (number on the box, purchased from JDMYard)
Secondary o2 OEM part number (printed on the actual unit): NTK OHJ:562-H7 (Which proved to be quite difficult to find a OEM replacement)
I ended up getting an aftermarket Denso 234-4122 Oxygen Sensor, more info here http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...=1#post3301180 Post #12437
The secondary sensor, I wouldn't bother with changing it unless your actually getting a CEL specifically stating that it has malfunctioned or a similar error code.
Man, just took the ep3 for a spin tonight after 2 weeks sitting in the garage, and my gosh i love my car haha feels good to hit vtec again.
does anyone get surprise mods? some importers have no idea seriously.
cleaning the engine bay last night and found an engine torque damper, js racing tie rod, j's racing lower tie bar, some blue colored aftermarket rear camber arms that was not listed on the mods list when i bought it. how delightful.
thats some pretty cheap! might jump on it before our dollar gets worst, haha
I did, i thought i was running on a cheap aftermarket exhaust system,Quote:

but what i found was a spoon axle back n1 exhaust, unknown mid pipe + a high flow cat.
plus a couple yens in the cabin ;)
i found a pair of panties owned by a jap prostie trapped in the recaro rails
found a apexi vtec controller in the spare tyre well lol
arent you guys lucky...
im gonna go treasure hunting in my car later when i finish work to see if i have any surprise mods
i just found out my engine is actually k20/k24 frankenstein
^LMFAO just trolling on the k20/k24.
but i honestly did find the other goodies
just found a gun and some cocaine in the behind my dash panels. lulz jks.
shit sorry man, i read the lulz jks part too late, i already tracked down your ip address and gave it to the cops
I found an envelope that has been translated to confirm that someone's insurance renewal is due . . . lucked out by the looks!
No major issues with the Denso, it threw a CEL once during the track day the week it was put in. Error codes stated that it had malfunctioned and also had an additional fuel mixer code. The CEL turned off by itself later that evening and hasn't come back on since.
I found a Spoon drop in air filter in the airbox, and a few yen in the centre console
How many of you don't use the "I-vtec" manifold cover? Is there any downside to driving without it?
Does vtec engage in 1st gear?
The engine doesn't know or care what gear your in vtec will engage without fail at 5800rpm unless: our not on full throttle. Or your oil is very low.
Isn't it all to do with oil pressure? Oil pressure is low when cars cold, do so vtec.
As said before.. also depends on throttle position as this also effects oil pressure. If you have an oil pressure gauge, watch that and you'll see.
