anyone know if aftermarket LSD makes knocking noise when you turning...? or could it be my coilovers?
Anyways, heres my problem. I own a ep3r 02 and at low speeds (e.g. occasionally around round-a-bouts and even more noticable when slow enough to pull into my drive way) a knocking noise is heard from. Its like a knock-knock-knock-knock.
but it only knocks when i turn at low speeds...
Check your swaybar end-links to see if they're worn or have any play. Also could be the steering rack needing the famous regreasing. I had a similar problem where I had a really deep creaking sound which almost sounded knocking when parking or doing any manoeuvres; it was sometimes evident when pulling away as well. Regreasing the steering rack fixed it.
i got told it's my aftermarket LSD. if so anyone have 1.5-way mechanical LSD on there ep3r and is it making knocking noise?
no everyones got the factory helical LSD that all jdm ep3 came with...
yes, thats right. all JDM delivered ones anyway.
finally managed to get around to installing my reverse camera which I purchased on eBay for $13. Great additional feature considering I already had the double din and super easy!

^haha i have one too but i have no idea where to mount it. Not too keen on drilling, its currently just ziptied to my towbar LOL
Drill is easy. Drill next to the number plate light. It's actually not metal so easy to drill.
Yeah thing is the camera I have isn't stealthy enough for me to hide under, its also an cheapy ebay one. Overall it does a good job, especially with the EP3's blind spots. I like yours, its not too noticable, does it have infrared?
You mean night vision? If so, yeah it does. Works great in night or day.
btw did you plug the holes where the jdm license plate bracket clipped in? gonna remove mine when i get a personalized plate, it also left damn mark around the bottom edges.
Not sure what your referring to but I haven't done anything
The oem jdm license plate holder

looking closely at your picture i can see it left some marks like mine did under your license plate from where it used to be. there should be two holes behind your no plate from where it used clip on. Just wondering if i should seal it off.
I'll take the plate off and check it when I get the chance
Hi guys just wondering if there's any ep3 wrecks at this moment in Melbourne? Currently after the plastic grill or so that is located just above the front lip. PM if anyone has this!!
Anyome know if storing a car for a long time if i should put it up on jacks and take the wheels off?
I think you'd probably have more success in using a jack to alleviate some of the weight of the car. Otherwise you could end up with rust on the extended part of the shocks.
No issue storing car like that
But you should maximise the inflation of the tyres to make sure they stay firm n fresh
Do I need to do a wheel alignment after installing a new rear swaybar and everytime I adjust it (whiteline)?
Is upgrading from the oem 22mm to the 24mm whiteline RSB even a noticable difference? From my understanding there's two points of adjustment for the whiteline one; theres the normal 24mm, then theres a hard setting which pretty much makes it like a 25mm sway bar?
can you eleborate a bit? Should i jack the car up off the wheels take em off amd leave em in the boot or should i jack the car leave wheels on and pump, or.... Should i leave car on ground inflate to higher than normal and leave it? Car will be stored for at least a year.
Hi guys just wondering, what rpm does ur ep3r cruise at 100km 6th gear?
Yeah im actually pretty curious as well. Apparently the car I'm gonna get has a 5.1 final drive but I'm still reluctant to believe it
sorry for this post as it is very off topic...
what happend to the BYP traders... i cant find it..
i wanna search for something
i was reading a topic some where on here, not to long ago regarding someones poor experience with the BYP boys and it got escalated into a massive debate, i guess the mods removed them as traders until everything has settled, dont seem to be able to find the thread no more.
Hey guys,
Sorry to butt in. How do u guys keep your gruppe m box stuck to where it is. Mine keeps spinning and goin to the side... =[
Too much torque, the intake twisted coming of the line
Too much 8600rpm torque lol. I don't have a gruppe m but try checking the mounting brackets if any
Yep, there should be a mounting bracket on the left.
This is what I mean!
Attachment 23186
you dont have the mounting bracket.
See the silver band that tightens the intake to the intake arm ? Look to the left of this , there is a small nut. There should be a small L piece of metal that holds the back of the filter housing to the side of the engines head. This keeps the heavy gruppe m upright.
here is an image of the bracket on the back of the intake

kenny07 looking at the pic closely, it looks like you have the L bracket already on it.
I'd try loosening the largest clamp and re-adjust it. Then loosen the smallest hose clamp which connects the gruppe m to the intake hose, and move the whole kit closer to the fire wall/scoop. Then should it move or slip later on, it should only move and hit the edge of the cowl.
I also put some small bits of double sided tape between carbon intake chamber and metal intake snout, to minimise any noise or movement.
Where can you get those mounting brackets from? As I need one since mine never came with it.
mines on and tight actually. tried tightening it but it wouldnt go any tighter! dont wanna break it!
ill have a proper look when i put in my induction hose i guess.
If u can spin the main body of the gruppe m then its not tighten down enough. Loosen the large clamp n make sure ur on properly then tighten till the main body needs resistance to spin. It shouldn't spin freely. If u really can't tighten up anymore then what u have then looks like a issue with the sizes of both parts which is preventing u to getting them both clamped down n tightened
Man, helping my friend with his EP3...
So many parts discontinued!
What's the compatibility of DC5R to EP3R regarding catback? As far as I can see from OH/Google, everything should fit except with some hanger issues and the tip will poke out more?
Cause my friend wanted a Kakimoto Fullmega N1+ Rev for his EP3R but they're discontinued... DC5R is still in production/available?
The other plan was to get the Axleback Philip Lee has and have a custom centre pipe made for it...
And it seems FGK has discontinued their Headers soo fun for me to find him a replacement...
NB: Before you start on the get a replica/USDM/etc he wants only JDM cause that's how he is so please don't bother me with your 2c ;)
Does anyones reverse gear crunch hard when your rolling slow? I'm talking really slow, like say i'm on a very slight hill and I select reverse whilst the car is rolling back on gravity to park, it crunches hard. I always have to make sure the car is dead still until i can select reverse smoothly.
Haha, oops sorry.
I remember I also put a strip of double side tape on the inside edge of both the large clamps. Which gives it a bit more bite when tightening them. Again I put it there to minimise any noise.
I left paper on the double sided tape so it was easy to undo and spin if needed.
yes.. mine does the same aswell but maybe not cruching hard...
i remember once it crunched pretty hard... but that was coz i was rolling back and i selected reverse and %%^&*#*&$*#@*$
not sure if i was rolling back slowly or not.. but all i remember is that i was rolling back and selected reverse and crunched!!
Would i run into any fitment issues with 17x8 +35 all round? Currently lowered to about a finger gap, looks like i might need to roll fenders?
Would I only need to roll the rears? Don't really wanna run more camber :\
yea rears, front is more lenient
Heres how the car sits atm, currently sitting on 17x7" +43, fairly close to oem wheel setup.

not sure how you guys measure ride height since i've never seen the car at stock height, but i guess its a little higher than finger gap from the top...maybe like finger and a half? lol i'm confident the fronts will fit fine without scrubbing on 8" +35 unless i'm swinging hard into a corner maybe. What about the rears?
