i have a vtec head for sale to someone in melb, Cheaper for a DA9 owner!!
check out my for sale thread.
hey im looking at getting new headlights for my ls. Ive been looking at the option racing's headlights.
- Has anybody bought them and are they any good?
- also my cars is red so what would be the best headlight to suit? cos there's chrome, titanium and black housing
For pics:
http://www.andysautosport.com/acura/...option_racing/
everyone with aftermarket headlights have black housing, get titaniumas they are a little dif but till look stock.
IMO JDM/USDM are the b0mb!!!!! and would pay stupid amounts of cash for real ones
jdm are the same as what we go here. usdm are the two piece ones
JDM have the little fog light bit,
USDm are the 2 piece ones.
yep i have them...very very nice
I've heard the reflector housing ones don't produce a very good light output. The black housing ones look very nice, I've seen people do projector retrofits in them. Not bad for the price anyway.
cheers for the feedback. ill probably go the titanium to keep more stock looking.
Get the dark housing ones..
Dude check out these on ebay..
Like half the price of what that website is saying, looks fairly identicle to me aswell
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HEADLIGHT-COR...d=p3286.c0.m14
The same seller also has the crystal ones aswell
for 250 thats like alot less than 450 haha, just thought id give you a heads up
Ive got a pair of the black housing ones... have had em for almost 2yrs n still havent got round to modding em, I want to pull em apart mod the amber reflector section, where our park light sits and spray the edge of the housing black n seal it all up so it looks pro n im not worried about it fogging up. now.... to get over that fear of stuffing em up entirely.
how about you post a pic of your newly painted car :)
Hey guys
I was wondering ive got a 91 da but just wondering would the wiring be the same as the 92?
Was thinking of doing a B18c transplant on my 91 or is the wiring hard to swop if i wanted to do it?
90-91 is OBD0 (pale yellow clips) and 92-93 is OBD1 (grey clips). B18C's from the VTi-R are OBD1 for the early years and OBD2 for the later ones.
There are conversion harnesses around for you to plug OBD1 engine/ecu/injectors into a stock OBD0 harness. Alternately you can do what I did and remove the entire OBD1 wiring harness from a 92-93 and put it in a 90-91 - I don't recommend it though; it wasn't fun.
Hi all
Im looking to replace my radiator Ive had a look at various kits but still unsure of the best option and would like some help
i think mishimoto do a Da9 radiator?? or if ure good with a welder, adjust ure bottom rad brackets to fit a koyo half size EG one.
Mishimoto do a DA9.
http://www.mishimoto.com/acura-radia...-aluminum.html
I am looking at putting a DC Koyo radiator in mine as they are the same dimensions except for being 2 rows instead of 1 and a thicker core(this might be just because of the second row) not sure if volume is different.
Will have to adjust the mounts on the bottom and top to suit and I will be running aftermarket fans, so that won't matter.
other issue is if you have a standard front crossmember, it will foul on the drain plug, which makes changing out the cooolant a problem.
I like the look of the Koyo better than Mishimoto.
What reasoning is there to run a brand name radiator? When my radiator cracked a tank at my parents place in bum**** no where I managed to get a decent dual row jobbie for $350 including frieght, and I haven't had a single cooling problem since. I don't see the point in upgrading stuff past your needs.
With a 9.2:1 compression ratio standard, does anyone know what approximate psi reading you would get for a comp test on the B18A? I don't have a vehicle manual. Did mine and got 200-205 PSI for all 4 cylinders, 89 model 240,000k.
Anyone else tested theirs?
i have a DA9 radiator if anyone needs it..
Congrats on the new car
DA9B18C thanks for the offer i will keep that one in mind when i need a harness i will come to you in future..
But i decided it was a too big of a job if i done a transplant from da to da because the other is in better shape. transfering a 93 Da into a 91 would be too much ****ing around that i dont really have much time.
Other words just too much effort
Thanks man
Wahyu
its posted up, Nobbs posted it up in the teg appaerance thread.
I was wondering would a DC2 b18c extractors fit on a Da9 because if in not wrong are all b18 series blocks are the same or other way around?
thanks
Im in the same boat as you..
Some people say all b18 are the same, vtec or non vtec.. but then again there are headers that are specifically for vtec b18s like b18c etc.. I think they will fit but maybe the difference is the design to accompany vtec (to get max gains etc) may be different..
It would be great if someone could clarify it once and for all!
nah b series are the same
including the gaskets they bolt on
the b18 headers are better coz i think the height of the b16 is smaller then a b18 so its possible that they wont fit. but again i might b wrong depending on the type of header
but if u get a b18c vtec header shouldnt make u loose power remember the reason for vtec is to give a smooth idle with more breathing up the top where our engines (b18a/b) are the same the whole time so if u put lumpy cams u wont get that smooth idle of a vtec but theres always a trade off for power usually drivability or reliability
All B headers will fit u might just need to grind your cross member down a little. i have a 92-93 DA9 and fitted Xforce 4-1 headers. i had to grind the cross member to get them in nice and snug.
there for sale as well if any one wants. Free modified cross member!
what are u running now for ur setup? a half size?
usualy space is a drama for turbo setups i got a 56mm civic half size on order
Thanks for clarifying that up mate,
Just wondering if http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RACING-HEADER...d=p3286.c0.m14 will fit then?
or these? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HONDA-B16-B18...3286.m20.l1116
theres also these.. says specifically for 92-3 LS integra, but they dnt look as affective having the joining part at the top too?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1992-1993-HON...d=p3286.c0.m14
lol.Quote:
ahhhh thats your car !! i saw the pics but had no idea who it was.. very nice !!!
i see you also updated the front and rear bars ??
yeah thats my lil project, updated front rear bars, taillights and i threw a set of new thin moulds and side indicators on too, the indicators went on after those pics were taken.
glad you like it.
the last header looks ok coz u can split it. but the 4-1 ones are better headers but im not sure they might hit the crossmember
Anyone got an auto 89-90 ECU they wanna sell me? My DA9 decided it wants to devour fuel more than air lately.
:o lol sorry man mines turbo....
my dump pipe only just passes it if u want them to def fit then all u gotta do is put a traction bar in.
the traction bar lets u put more in and nearly all headers will fit then
but i think its like 10 15mm
question which other hondas trailing arm bushes fit into ours?
The rear trailing arm bushes? The ones from the older civics are cross compatible, Nolathane part number 46180. You need the 85mm (outer diameter) for a DA.
cheers, which older civic you reffering to?
ED's no doubt Alex.
Yeah, was the ED, in my haste to post I'd forgotten. You can cross check in the nolathane catalogue but that is the correct part number. $155 if you were wondering
was wondering for a b18cr engine to fit into a ls integra
what engine mounts do i use, are the dc2 engine mounts interchangeable
in terms with wiring loom and shift linkage , do i need the dc2r parts or i have other options?
thanks
B18CR would be straight swap, its already got a b18 in it. If the b18Cr is obd0 you can use your same wiring harness. Shift linkage you can use DC2 parts, which means you can use EG parts too if you wanted.
if u can use the long ratio gearbox then u dont have to convert to hyd clutch... however u might b able to pull the bellhousing off and put the short ratio box in with the cable clutch otherwise u gotta convert it.
the engine mounts u should b able to use the da ones otherwise the dc ones will bolt straight in
either way u do need to change some of ur wiring and wire in ur vtec possibly change o2 sensor and depending on the b18 and the ecu u have u will prob have to change the ecu plugs from either obd0-1 to obd2a (the jdm type r has an obd2a ecu but only works as an obd1)
however this means u need to convert it. and put some wires in. id prob go and see if u can get the conversion harness ive got 1
Sorry to invade but are you saying dc integras engine mounts will fit in a da9 even with a b18a1 and the dc having the b18b?
From my experience no they do not bolt on.
as far as i know the engine ones arent a problem its the gearbox that is diff but if u have a half cut of a dc2 and if u have a da9 u should b able to work something out
remember the box on a da9 has a mount on the crossmember at the front to all dcs dont they only have upper lower and rear
but if its a b18b u dont really wana change the gearbox because its not worth it u only want to change the engine
in this case yes a b18b will bolt straight into a da9 with no mods and i dont think any wiring mods either (provided u use da9 box)
Yeah just the gearbox mount is different, and most likely your front engine mount, as in a DA that bolts directly to the transmission.
Hi all wana upgrade suspension can i put DC2R Gear on my DA or should i jst look for a set of coilovers
Koni yellows. I think there was a second hand set on the forsale forums here.
Hi Guys,
I'm having heaps loads of DA Parts for sale... I can't post for sale items here thou...
But do check carsales (ID:7644325)... or the DA forum @dacrew-au.com/forum for the parts... heaps of things to let go...

haha can u see the love at dacrew lol
its there spoon dont want his da9 anymore anyways ;)
hey guys
i was looking at putting some DC5R rims on my DA . But it only has a 4 stud wheel pattern..how much would a 5 stud conversion cost me?.. or is it possible to get them in 4 stud?..any help is appreciated.. ive attached a pic of what i did on photoshop
Looks okay but not worth the trouble doing a 5 stud conversion IMO just for some rims
With the total cost added up, you could get a nice set of 4 stud mags like volk rays, enkei, work wheels etc.. all in 4 stud pattern
Just my opinion, good luck
if its gonna be expensive i wont bother..just thought id ask :)
thanks for the advice boys
I know that but he didn't directly talk about wanting better braking power just change the stud pattern for the rims
And driving a da9.. IMO I think the stock brakes are powerful enough (assuming the stock engine is still in there) as long as they have good discs and pads on them..
I know just trying to Justify his impulse purchase
