grats on the time duy...like yonas said.....slicks shud get u to 12's.
goodluck with it all man.
grats on the time duy...like yonas said.....slicks shud get u to 12's.
goodluck with it all man.
not bad for a civic.
lol.
very impressive.
yes yes, i'll try semi's next time should drop the time a fair bit. Then slicks for the 12's!!! :D
haha did just as I predicted! Great work D! A very impressive time for regular street tyres! That mph will get you into the 12's with slicks no probs! But let's see some low 13's with semi's first! :p
We we're going to take the K but it hasn't been tuned yet, plus we thought it was going to rain. We'll try for the 7-11 on next thursday otherwise it will have to be 10 Jan.
Did anyone else run their honda's?
Well done Dang!
Cong. Dang !!
well done bro!.....
Nice Dang. Good seeing You and the Car in action last night.
Yeah Sang screwed up his mount on the 2nd run, Hasport for ya...
Glen - there was a few other honda's but i think most didn't have a good night, even including myself launches were not the greatest, my little girl still had a bit in her. Need to pick up a set of them BFG's like you boys :D
Dean - Nice to finally meet you :P Did you get in any decent runs?
Thanks for the support from all the others.
damn, i thought hasport is tough as
Congrats barefoot; impressive
Nice Barefoot!!! That gives me some goals to hit with my B16 when it's done....
I'm hoping for 13s :)
2.160ft is good on street tyres. That MPH puts u at about the same speed as a d-series greddy kit ;)
2.126 to be exact :p But yeah, guess i'm just expecting too much cause my Gansta mate pulls 2.0xx 60ft times on streets (toyo proxes).
and lol yeah, give some of the turbo boys a run for there money
Eoh, you might be on to something. I'll have a look when i get home, or if you're reading Sang, something to look into!
can u also take a pic of the damage for me?? thanks
I have read a few cases of Hasport failure on honda-tech, I am starting to get scared.
only happens on the k series ones? would it be the amount of torque it has?
or just a bad design?
cheers
Most probably a poor design. Not to mention the lack of mounts. they only use 3 mounts instead of the OEM 5 mounts.
I'd be inclined to use the OEM torque mounts as well as the hasport mounts for the sides and rear.
They only make the 3 main mounts but you have to put 5 mounts on anyways. And I wouldn’t think it’s because of the k20a’s torque, if that’s the case how they gonna cope with turbo engines.
so maybe a bad design.
lol.
Some people don't use all 5 mounts.
Yeah i'll keep you posted Eoh.
shit so many experts around. this is a k20 swapped EG we are talking about. Not unless you're gonna custom make/fit the 4th and 5th mount ("torque" mounts), there is only 3 mounts.
i dont know if you could use all 5 mounts actually... the bracket would not fit and would would probably have to customized your brackets by drilling your own holes.
Ill send you some of the photos later on tomorrow evening Eoh.
well.. can't you make a solid bracket that goes from the motor to the chassis? and not use the original mounts?
that way you would have to drill holes?
though you'd have to get a competent welder to do so.
lol.
Sorry I was only talking the b-sries…
i was talkin about the k.
lol
i'm sure they could fabricate one.
but for the money you pay for a hasport kit, you'd think it'd come with something to compensate for the other 2 mounts that are not used.
=/
also depend on how the actual hasport mount was installed.....I bliv ther is a couple of washers included into the hardware to be used on the rear mount to even up the mounting point. The mount is made for LHD thats why. There's probly only a few who have the same issues with the rear mount but majority of the Hasport user is very happy with it.
Yerp the rear Hasport mount has to be modified for the EG K series RHD swap, the small section that bolts to the powersteering rack has to be removed and re-welded to the other side. Well thats what ive done..:)
You must have run over a black cat Sang the way your going..:(
wd on the time! =))
Heres a vid, hope you don't mind. Don't think this was your best time. We were taping my mate in the Valiant hence we did not get your Time board.
Hope the vid works ok.

Nice work duy :D
ur car is pure sex duy :) one of Australias best EK
nice time
im in love with your engine bay
thats bloody nice as man!!
thumbs up to you mate
That's awesome!
Your 60ft is surprisingly good for stock tyres!
When you do a passenger as i did, you will be      !!
duy your car looks unreal mate... its come so far!... would love to see it with ctr head lights!!
hey awsome stuff barefoot. imo, i think you might be more beneficial with an enclosed box instead of individual sox
well done man ! alot of hard work gone into that car and money of course :D
looks better on the white rims
barefoot u bastard....:P
great time
I was using socks on my quads but if you dyno it again with and without them you will see big power difference
I just took mine down the strip same 60 ft as you ,,could not get tyres to grip with over 150kw atws ...need some practice
sweet, what tyres are you running? 150kw, that's some decent figures alright. Did you end up getting any times down?
got a few runs in ,,in the afternoon it was about 30 deg on full tank of fuel ...ok thats all my excuses... 14.1
Was using dunlop djo1 let the fronts down to around 15 psi to stop it hopping
maybe at this pressure i could not get any heat in the rubber to get them to grip
This is a circuit car just went to the drags just to see:)
mph was only 98 ...very low to me...i must be wheel spinning for a fair distance
there is definitely something wrong with your dyno reading if you only got 98mph, that is no where near a car that's really making 150kwatw.
98mph with 2.1 60ft 14.1 sounds just about right, but then that also points to only around 100 - 110 kwatw.
yeah ,i have been doing the mods to the car for a while and i started with 120kw now upto 150 ...It was actually making 159.9 but cause i track the car just to be safe 150 was good..
If i remember i think i got 98mph in my old crx with 100kw
how do u make it make less power? :S lower the boost? rofl
I just dug up my old dyno graphs...It was only 115kw to start with ..now up to 150 ..To drive there is a big difference
And lap times have droped quite well
Do you tune your own car? If not I think your tuner is having you on, giving you bodgy numbers on his dyno.
No i dont tune my own car
I race against plenty of honda which all have pretty good power figures. i have no trouble making them look like there standing still:cool:
at the drags I had very hot engine bay temps ..just finished relocating the filter to the front guard ..I dont notice such high temp at the circuit as I have plenty of air movement..
Still doing this is not going to get me 1 sec
Did you let your tyres down at all...????
This is Duys thread, dunno why ur hijacking it with ur 150kw honda.
Sorry if i offended u B20B, but this is just my opinion.
Do you mind showing your dyno sheets?
150 kw atw is big numbers!!....
I know.... we just ended up talking about how bad i am at doing the drag racing thing:zip:
13.5 is a great time i think I'll wait till winter and try again
from talking to others about the drag times they have informed me that if you do run after run (like I did) there times went from 13.5 and ended up doing 14.1 in there rx8 ..Cool down of engine is very important..popping the bonet on the drive back after a run is a good idea and having it open as long as possible
and they informed me there girlfriend does 1.8 60 ft time preetty good
