anyone here looking to sell their white ep3r rims?!?!?!? =D
how much u willing to buy them for? with 70% Kumho AST Tyres left. :)
800-900 maybe? or maybe a swap with fd2 rims =D. with like 90% stock michellin PP tyres left lol.
arent the fd2 and ep3 rims the same just different colours ??
just spray ur fd2 sports rims white :)
yeah they are, buuut spraying is too much work hahaha. =[
yeah =[. hahaha. thats why i just wanna do like a swap with my fd2 rims, although worried about resale value with that =/
I'd just keep the FD2 rims and buy the EP3 rims. Cause down the track when you sell the car, I'd be better in stock trim. Cause you'll never get more money for modded parts, somtimes less.
Unfortunately resale for car parts is always based on supply and demand and not the true worth of the item :(
hmm, dont think i could sell it in stock though, seeing as ive got the mugen kit on =/.. lol. and it won't be coming off easily i dont think =.=... so in saying that, do you think its not worth a swap? or still better to keep the fd2 rims =/.
main issue is though, if i BUY the ep3 rims, they'd be around the same price as another set of rims i've been interested in, but in 18 as opposed to 17 inch.. soo i dunno.. kinda just looking for a trade atm i guess.. unless i can sell the fd2 rims
a month ago i got my mounts replaced cause the old ones were bugger, so i replace them with some used oem jdm dc5r ones in good condition [ prob same as ep3 ones] but the amount of stress the motor puts on these wasnt enough and now its up to where im gonna have to get aftermarket mounts rather then just getting another set of oem and have them shit themselves on me again
guys need some opinions on how the reliable and ride [rough to soft] is with hasport/innovative/avid mounts?
i no a few other ep3 members have replaced there mounts also from this problem
yeah any feedback would b awesome fellas. Im looking for some stiffer mounts for my car atm but im leaning more towards mugen mounts because they wont b as stiff as the rest because im scared of stiffer mounts making weird unwanted noises lol
im planning to replace my soon as well. Gonna go for hasport ones
I dont think hasport actually make mounts for the EP3.
Innovative 60A is the go....if you really aftermarket mounts. However, it does still vibrate through the car.
If you do alot of tracking and drags then the 70 is for you. Either AVID or Innovative.
I've had the avids, awesome mounts.....but its is harsh. It makes the car vibrate and you can feel it alot, I dropped 0.2 second on the 1/4 mile :)
Steve, I wouldnt bother with the mugen/spoon ones. They're not that much better than stock.
IMO if you car is 99% street, urathane the OEM or get the inserts. This will keep the car almost stock.
60A are the red ones im assuming? and 70 black?
hasport do make dc5/ep3 mounts, jdmyard sells them http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53266
Unfortunately no. They are quite firm all the time. You can't soften a rock, just like me LOL!
So be it, Im wrong. Its still more exxy than the other brands!
I was told by the guy that bought my AVIDS that the mugen ones were shit cause he broke them and thought them were a complete waste of money, considering you can buy a set of inno/avid for same price.
If you look at it logically, the spoon/mugen ones are opened design giving the mounts movement, therefore could and will still break when pushed.
Dont flame me, I'm not baggin mugen, its not my opinion, just what I've been told :)
Here guys! Look mugen mounts and inserts....

Hey Paul,
I was thinking of a Sydney meet up, like what we did at homebush?
What do you reckon? Just a small get together!
friends dad replaced them for me at his workshop but wasnt worth it imo cause they broke not so long after lol
Hey Philip Lee, Is that your car in your Avatar photo's??
It look's good, that how i want my EP3 to that SPEC...
Anyway by any chance you got any info about that EP3??
THANX
for the record, this is the actual pic:
http://www.imagebucket.in/images/6fd...qiq4wpnydy.jpg
it's actually a pre FL spoon EP3 driven by Tsuchiya Keiichi aka Drift King in a Hot Version DVD.
Yeah, small meet up is good. Can I suggest the pub that we went to Paul? Nice and quiet and the food was good too. We can do that a chit chat there :)
One week night would be good. Maybe the night of the monthly meet and if we want to, we can cruise up to where it is!?
Steve, if you are gonna get inserts, its defeating the purpose of getting the Mugen mounts.
Guys need help, what brake pads fit our EP3, can we use DC5 or S2K??
Not too sure about DC5?
I ordered some S2K front ones and they fit!
Rear pads are same for AUDM and JDM DC5R.
Rear calipers are same size too, only diff is the rear calipers on the JDM DC5R are made of lighter alloy/aluminium material off memory.
anyone know if mugen engine mounts have the name mugen on them ?? i just got some second hard mugen engine mounts and i cant tell the difference between oem and them. I got a 3 piece set and 1 of the mounts has honda written on it :S
is that any s2k or has to be AP1 or AP2??
just found out 2day that the mugen mounts use the same housing as oem mounts. Only difference is, is that the rubber is more stiffer or some crap.
This is kind of random but I think we need to start an EP3 picture thread. One of our cars and another of awesome ones that we can all idolise.
Just some input into the forum :p
theres already one in the appearance/gallery section

saw a white Ep3 on victoria road west ryde today and had a gt wing on it
im down for a meet, greet and EAT!!!
^ hey george...yeah...been a while... :)
let me know when this happens...but not free next sat...
can anyone here confirm whether the tie rod ends, driveshafts and fr rotors are the same between AUDM DC5R and EP3?
thx guys
Hey guys,
Have been inspecting an EP3 in the last days as I'm interested in getting one. Anyone shed any light as to replacing a broken left lense with a standard one?
Also the Type R badge on the grill has been removed... what's the deal with replacing these? I haven't been able to find any for sale.
Thirdly, There are no centre caps, are these hard to replace?
Fourthly, is there anything else I should be on the lookout for of massive concern with owning an EP3?
I want to make the right choice as I'm moving from an EG Civic to an EP3 so it's a lot of money and I don't want to regret it.
Thanks guys,
Shiri
yes standard ep lights fit, just not the smoked type r effect
ebay has what u need for the front badge
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-03...Q5fAccessories
ebay has centre caps sometimes and jdmyard i think can get them for u
Thanks for the help on that Mugen!
guys my engine mounts have had it, what price am i looking at to replace them, also will dc5r ones fit?
Going by the fact that both cars have the same gear box and brake set up, it'd be my educated guess that the drive shafts would be the same.
It has been said several times that discs are the same and tie rods are different. But if you get the inverted tie rods, it doesnt matter as the eyelets will make up the difference!
Anyone know where i can find leather shift boots?
try ebay uk.
we got our suede and leather from one of the seller.
if i buy again, i'd get leather. only got suede cos i got it from my fd who changed his mind and went leather.
Hey guys what does this "2 Stars" sticker mean
picture here: https://passwordjdm.com/images/Produ...al%20Large.jpg
Thanks heaps
it's just a sticker to tell the emission level the car achieves.
this is an older one (2001) that fits our EP3, i think they now have a diff sticker for newer standards.
Ok What should i do:
1)Spoon N1 = $935 shipped and do a 3'' custom B-pipe, Fujita CAI = $395
2) EBAY SPOON style muffler = $280 and do a 3'' custom B-pipe, Gruppe-M = $1,300-1,400
All priced are shipped
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....tab%3DWatching
Custom CAI <$300 (dependant on air filter)
Modified OEM secondary header with hi flow cat with 2.5inch stainless mandrel exhaust mid muffler and cannon of choice <1K (Save about another $200 if using mild steel).
I had CAI, changed to GruppeM and there was almost nil difference on the road....and nil difference in HP output on the dyno!
No need for 3" unless you are going for bigger mods that I/H/E!
there you go...
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/__r-lea...fSMQQ_fromfsbZ
1) Cut you original header at the front of the cat and weld in new cat of choice. Cost is the price of a cat ($150-$300) and max $100 in labour and 20-30 in a new flange (or use you original).
2) Stainless catback should cost you about $200-$300 in centre and rear muffler (dependant on brand). $100-$200 on piping and $200-$300 on labour.
Obviously I'm being a little broad on the pricing as each place is different (In Sydney labour can be anywhere from $60-$120 an hour). If done at once it should'nt cost you anymore than 1K.
Any capable exhaust shop can do this job. There is nothing about the EP3 that needs special attention.
That said, this is a budget option which would give you good gains!
Better still, if you're really keen, take the header off the engine and grind off the welds inside the flange.
1)Cut you original header at the front of the cat and weld in new cat:
Why needed to be cut?? and cant you just buy a cat and bolt it on??
2)take the header off the engine and grind off the welds inside the flange:
what's good about that?
Sorry i just have no idea on these stuff
thanx N.M
Depends on your budget and what mods your after. OEM header is not bad, but can be improved. In no way am I comparing it to a Toda header etc....but then again modding the OEM header wont cost a few weeks wage either!
The OEM header is a properly made stainless steel header with mandrel bends, so i'd say it aint too bad!
Steve, I'll put something up as soon as I get my roster tomorrow. Cant organise something when I dont know when I am available :p
Soon mate, soon......
hmm do like aftermarket header's have build in cat's?? just like the OEM's??
In short....NO!
Heres an idea of cost! Its a rough guestimate but I'd be quite close!
Mugen header with cat $2500ish
Toda race header (no cat) $1500ish
Buddy club race header (no cat) $1300ish
Maximworks header with cat $2500ish
SSR raceheader (no cat) $2500
Basically you'd be spending $1500 upwards to have a set of headers modified with a cat!
Working with my $100 per KW principal......fail unfortunately, money better spent elsewhere!
But this is my personal opinion :)
Got mine here - http://www.redlinegoods.com/general.shtm. Nice quality leather. Just need to pull my finger out and fit it!
