beaks bar installed :)
thrashed it...........
Fileld it up again with Shell Vortex 98
Replaced front speaker with Alpine Type S 2-way components. Big improvement in sound quality.
fitted EK centre console/armrest... now have to work out how to fill the whole at back because didn't come with coin/ash tray holder. Doh.
just vaccumed it and put floor mats in (because i'm a clean freak and i haven't cleaned it for 5 days so i was getting antsy)... and will probably rinse the dust off it before going out later...
I like Shell more, because Ferrari uses it.
I've always used Shell 98 V Power as well, and will only use Shell. Never had any problems at all. One thing which didn't work was when I tried E10 a while back lol... I don't know just didn't seem to have the same bite IMO, car felt very sluggish - probably not designed for the engine I guess...?
But every 4 fills I mix in a bottle of Nulon octane booster with the V Power... just to give that extra bit of boost :D
ye done use e10 LOL it will harm your engine more
Dont use E10
i used it in my old mirage
damaged the engine.
Put the interior back in with the help if sydneys most wanted ethnic criminals dubdub and -B18C- thanks alot boys
E10 is good in later model cars because they're specced up to run on that shit... and i've harmed the main parts of an engine with it, but needless to say that the fuel injectors in my old Opel Vectra didn't like it, to the point where I had to get the injectors sonic cleaned after only using it once... and not even a full tank...
There was a Shell VPower fuel that was 100 Octane from memroy... it was a limited edition and everytime u filled up with more than $10 worth at a shell u used to get a different ferarri model car... I used to use that in my VL commodore... but mind u that was in Brisbane... That fuel was awesome... if i didn't drive like a twat i used to get 600 - 700kms out of a tank in a done up VL, and if i used to drive with my foot burried in the carpet i'd only get 350km, but it was a shitload of fun:thumbsup::thumbsup:
put a rear foglight from a dc2r in the rear bar
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d..._1160336_n.jpg
now wiring it up to the front relay
also seen how 16x8 in 0 offset looked on the weekend, wow is all :) lol
Put my new 3TZ decal above my right headlight looks awesome.
Is there even any fog up in QLD? lol
looks good :)
i drove it to work today..
there was for a week solid on the new gateway, some when I go to Mapleton or near Lake Baroon (Pocket Dam) :)
Mugen tank covers arrived
hwo mcuh u pay for them?
SPOON > MUGEN
Yeh, got a good deal - including postage from Japan was 30 bucks for 2 (Mugen)
Not bad.
who do u go through to get your parts from Japan?
normally i just search the net and sus out a few dealers depending on the part...
But for little stuff like this eBay is perfect. eBay seller is 'Kcgr27' he has a lot of JDM parts, communication was great and quick delivery too, so can't complain
I thought rear foglights were UKDM option not JDM ?
I like the rear fog light, considered it for a while myself. Only thing that turned me off it was the fact that Hyundai Excels have similar lights at the rear as well...
Today I put my car into the workshop to get a new catch can setup installed as well as a service and the dizzy to get looked at. and possible new camshafts installed ;) maybe.
No for smoother air flow so it doesnt have to become restricted by the stock resonator box and reonsator arm.
Not to mention spoon bling.
Nice. Yeh, I like it - that's actually a very hard Spoon part to find these days... and not cheap either! Saw one on ICB Motorsports website in US (I've got a few of my JDM parts from there) and very rare part... good work Tai :)
Like ur tank covers too lol ;)
nah got it from japan myself haha.
KnN panel filter+spoon arm cost $160 for both + removeal of resonators ( free ).
Bargain upgrade imo.
went to the local scrap yard and found an aftermarket leather stitched hand brake boot from an old 80s Civic - not rips, tears or anything + fits EK! + some odd screws for 10 bucks :)
ej8 did nothing lol hahahaha. I looked at it and said ur damm sexy!
Picked up my freshly painted front bar and EK9 lip. now all I need is my car back from the workshop to put it on again.
I love seeing updates on his EM1, such a nicely speced coupe, many people like the wing? :)
Put some stickers on my fairing today
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/k.../DSC00071a.jpg
I DIY'd some custom centre caps and put on my Enkei decals for my RP-01's
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_4m-JP407Wos/TH...0822163833.jpg
i think its the grill i honestly hate the grill it self and eye lids but i guess its a perfect pair :)
finally colour coded some blk bits still needa do the side skirts and she'll be done for cosmetics
Yeh Mugen Civic's car looks great :) One of the best EK sedans I've seen. Would love to see a Ferio/EM1 wing on ur bootlid one day - IMO that would really set the car off ;)Quote:
Those eye lids actually look good. I've always hated them on EK's but you made it work somehow???
Awesome Thraed!
Today I put some coilovers into my EK1 sedan :)

BC Racing BR Series coils with 32 level damper setting.
http://i774.photobucket.com/albums/y...4/100_0360.jpg
It took 3 1/2hrs,I fart arsed around a bit..lol,the install was easy,no tricks :)

Next is corner balancing then wheel alignment!
its too high !!!
still 4wd spec !
They are only a 45 profile tyre..I will get 50's next.
2 fingers gap at the front,1 1/2 at rear.It gives me a 110mm clearance at the front with the lowest point being the H Brace and cat, they are equally low.
So legally I can go 10mm more but the roads out where I drive wont allow for that unless I drive more carefully but I don't haha and will end up smashing something up under there.Every knock does damage, scrapes are OK though usually.
Bush roads...
The height will change when I get it corner balanced BUt I just can't go anymore really.
Cops are really targetting dumped cars and with this new knowledge,I'm playing smart,I wasn't even gonna get coils because there's is way too many po po on the goldy BUT I don't live there anymore!
I'm Bush 4 Lyfe! lol
I think it sits sweet from a practical daily driver point of view - maybe lower if you were tracking it tho. How does it drive (i still have stock setup on my EK sedan lol)?
I was thinking about getting BCs a while back as I read some really good reports on them, but the one thing that put me off was the fact they're not ADR approved, so didn't want it to effect potential insurance issues etc.
But been told Tein Super Streets are ADR approved?
Yeah, like I said when i get a 50 profile tyre it will look better, that will be 4 months or so away,I just need that clearance.
Another (dark) shot.I'll get some after the corner balancing.

Is it a pain to change the damper settings and height adjustment? They should have an electronic unit you can do it from in the car...
cant really see the benefit of running low suspension on a daily, its annoying as hell going over bumper, im only running kings low, an the exhaust scrapes over bumps :S 2 finger gaps u would think it would b enough clearance but not for me, bear in mind im running a 2.5 cat back so that might also be the problem, lol
Only real adr approved coilovers are those such as bilstein and Tein since they are built for australian roads if im not mistaken, they cost a fortune though :(
They are suprisingly comfy, that's why I didn't buy coils for ages cause I value my comfort too much,so I'm very happy! :)
coilovers can be comfy,
It's just too many ppl are weak and complain its too hard when its them that are too weak sauce.
coilovers are awesome. :]
That's the cleanest EK engine bay i've seen to date! Did you slap that Si badge on there?
Oh yeah I VTEC it this morning! lol
Im going to be installing a new driver's side seatbelt this afternoon so my car can pass RWC for when i sell it lol thats about it!
Should just make an 'What did you do to your EG today',U can relate more when it's the same model.
green sedan ftw :D loving the rack
mmmm fresh coat of wax for mine
hmm yep last year it did for sure... :( But this year it has been running great all year :) it is in the shop at the moment getting a new catch can setup installed + a service + a few other little things checked out. only been there for a few days. All good man.
Thankyou Sir :) The wing went very well at the last track day, performed awesome and everyone loved it haha I don't run it on the street. I ran it on the street for a few days and copped it bad off my friends, work mates and brother haha not many fans... I liked it though :p
Benefit = Looks good. Then deal with the impracticality ;)
the mugen ss wing! :) pics of that on it :)?
no no haha, its just the Mugen wing for EK sedan, same as Alvis's one.
Sticker Bomb'd my spark plug cover..
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1410411_n.jpg
looks good man
Seriously bro, find a sticker shop. Buy a huge pack of stickers I bought 80... probably could have done it with 30-40 and just go nuts. Don't worry about what you put where, put them in all different positions. Take care when you do corners or folds and it will come out looking pro.. I wasn't sure about how this looked but everyone has praised so I guess it came out ok.. lol
Give it a go
I like it - so did you just buy a normal Honda boot spoiler to put it on whenever you want etc?
ANYWAY, one lesson I learnt tonight is that if you drive with your windows open a fair bit, this is what you're most likely to find on your roof lining and back seats:

haha, 2 dirty singlets LOL ;)
just couldn't believe how much dirt and crap builds up!
Ahahaha LOL
true true, what did U put on the rags to clean with?
i used some upholstery cleaner i had at home - not sure of the brand but pretty sure my Dad got it from an upholstery guy when he had some work done to his car.
It's pink in colour and absolutely works superb :)
Good one,I gotta do that.Yeah,I've seen how some cars can look fully clean on the inside but there's a layer of crap there that U can't really see.
Cheers!
so you sprayed the stuff on the seat.
Waited for it to soak in and wiped it out?
Did you need to soak the rag as well?
i've seen a few of white ek sedans in west side of melb with mugen wings.. seems to be very popular =o
