To be honest the driving positions of the WTR and the concept R is not the best. EK EG still rules in that aspect.
I don't think it'll handle like a Wombat. It's a comfortable Type R. More like an in-between the real Type R and the Type S. I just want the JDM CTR, or at least this UKDM one in white with black lights and black rims.
Gee wizz...a lot of people are having their say about this CTR eh!..hahaha...surely it is a fine piece of engineering, though could be better i suppose...but great to see 'a' Civic Type-R coming to Aus as part of its Honda mainstream car market.
Although, comparing this UKDM CTR to the JDM 4-door CTR, I think I would prefer the JDM one as well because it is unique in its own kind and yes brembos, recaros are fabulous!......haha :cool:
saw this in person first time today. damn i was surprised how well it looked closed up. on the photos didnt really pop up especially with its fat ass. its actually not that bad looking. think ppl will get used to the look soon enough.

OOh difficult to comment on. I just read through every post on this thread. Crazy the amount of interest it has stirred here. It'll sell and sell pretty well. We do miss out on things a bit here in Aus but what can ya do? Move to Japan? I dont mind this car, it wont age too quickly, pretty futuristic look. I LOVE the interior but the rest i just think its a nice car. A nice car i wouldnt buy but would like to go cruising in if a mate of mine bought it. Times have changed, cars must have 4 airbags these days to be seen as safe, they also must have all sorts of electronic interventions... I would love to see the engine put in something lighter, unfortunately probably wont happen.

no back seats
only the 2 front airbags
and then some more type r treatment, (firewall removal or thinning etc)
and we call it the new CRX!!!
Surely if they keep to two seats they could make something safe with most of the luxuries required and keep it to no more than 1100kg?? That would be a car for me!
I dont think theres anything too special about the interest for this car. The interest is just because there hasnt been a new Honda model in so long.
(CRV doesnt count, it is just an upgrade and suvs are never exciting)

I've been camping the english civic type r forums (civictype-r.co.uk) and everyone whose just got their car are loving it. All reviews from leading magazines such as what car?, auto express, top gear and autocar have given the car a very decent rating except Evo. It looks like they considered build and handling in most of the tests because the type r came last out of the 4 cars tested ( MPS, Gti, Cupra and type-r) when it came to lap times and 0 - 100 kph.
Also cost wise.. UNLS1 if you are a dealer do you know how much these things are going for? as i'm abit confused at the moment since its about 18600 in the UK for a GT and converting that to AUS its about 45-46k which is almost equivalent to a Golf Gti with DSG.
46K for a gti is with leathers and HID on road......
what did evo not like it?........

When the Megane first came out I thought it was ugly.........but now the cup versions look quite hot.
Hope things change for the R...........such a shame our first civic R starts off on the back foot IMO.
Can anyone comfirm the quote price for the CTR coz I asked one of the sales i know from homebush honda and he cant give me a proper figure its ranging from 40-50K i was like WTF

Base model for a Golf gti is about 39-40k for it to be competitive it has to be lower then that.
