sounds good .... lol sry
i hate wreckers i dont trust any of them hey...
so i havnt been on the forum much lately... stuff with the car has been relatively dead.
but ive been drivin it lately, and im sick to death of the sparco copy bucket seats, so im looking into a cheap swap - namely 4th gen prelude seats
questions:
1. does any1 know of any DA9s with this done? (pics so i can c wat itll look like).
2. do the rails match up or am i gonna have 2 fab sumthing up?
3. wat trim/cloth options do they come in?
4. if not prelude seats, wat other stock honda seats r comfy and provide support? remember... were on the cheap here so no DC2R recaros for the moment LoL
thanx in advance
pretty sure they bolt straight in (according to the wrecker who had a DA9 with these seats in them)
VTiR Trims are nice.
what ya want for ur seats in it now???
and if u flogged em would ya get rid of the rails to?
my rails all fuked and it i got a rocking seat in mine :P.... is that a common problem?
LoL rocking seat in ur car haha that sounds interesting... probably not bolted in right?
when i bought the car the seats came with it, and so did sum spare rails etc... so ill c which 1s r which when i get the new seats. hopefully the spares r will match up 2 the preludes so i can sell wat i have now as a package. ill let ya know as soon as i do... probably sum time this weekend.
bro, when u say bolt straight in... is that with the prelude rails, or the seat bolts in2 the DA9 rails?
would u know how much the seats go for?
thats a good question..... not sure... youll have to figure that one out for yourself lol
LoL ur useless andrew! :p
so u reckon the vtir seats look the best? remember ive got the black interior on the DA
any ideas on prices ppl?
so i picked up the seats 2day from the wreckers (just my luck... the trim is almost identical 2 the back seats of my car)
having trouble with the rails... they dont match... and the rails that were originally in the the car with the sparcos r fabd... not original honda. was wondering if the original DA9 seat rails would fit the seats, but i doubt it, so dad is gonna fab sumthin up 2moro at work.
if not, do u know any other rails that would fit?
btw... old sparco copies r goin up for sale as soon as im happy with the lude instal.
so 4th gen rails dont bolt straight in?
nope... kinda pissed me off... i was really lookin fwd 2 havin the seats in b4 i went 2 work this arvo.
the front of the rails bolt on pretty sweet, its just the rear 1s. the inner rail is bout 2cm too long, and need a hole drilled in2 it so a bolt can go thru. the out rail just needs an L-bracket between the rail and the bolt thread. dad should knock 1 up 2moro at work, and hopefully have it in soon.
i wonder if the DA9 rails would fit the 4th gen base?
ive got access to these seats, if i had time i might try to fit my rails on, but that wont be for at least another 3 or 4 weeks !
and if they do.. might keep the seats in there..
but dont count on me to experiment coz knowing me i "wont be bothered"
do it
LoL u know u want to.
make sum time n try em on, im not fussed bout the time... but itll make my life easier if i can just fit sum rails on2 the seats.
on another topic... i have access to a jdm DA6
wish it was manual, coz i would of taken the dash cluster first thing (oddly though, it only goes to 7k due to it having a Z16?... didnt know they came with them).
anyhoo... point of story is, how hard is it to instal the climate control unit? wat kinda work is involved?
any links... tuts etc..?
also... is there anythin else in those cars that are different from the AUDM models that i would b interested in?
yeh thats a Dseries ZXi
thin side moldings?
folding mirrors?
arm rest maybe
cant really think of much else
oh yes! side moldings score!
cant remember if there was the armrest
the folding mirrors... ill have 2 take it when the electronic yeah?
Hey guys this just came to my attention...
Check this
www.innovativemounts.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=27
K series DA mounts... :D
nice
i wouldnt worry bout doin that to factory mounts but
i sikaflexed mine and there sweet
wat u mean?
hey everyone just wonderin iv got a da9 with a b18a and just wonderin where everone got there engine mods cam gears? rods? like anything for it so hard to find?
America is your best bet.
They have the most support for the B18a however depending on what your after you can use certain parts from other b series engines.
Spending big on the B18a wont get you very far and your wallet will be alot lighter.
Just read up on the pros and cons of that motor and you will see what I mean.
another qs where in NSW can i buy a catback 4 my da9 or anything close to it?
I would say custom with a muffler of your choice is your best.
That said I do believe Tanabe, OBX & Skunk2 make a c/back for the DA's.
Another option which I'm unsure of is a Modified CRX c/back.
I imagine you would have to extend the length of the after cat
pipe section, as well as measuring the muffler/exhaust section that
runs across the rear bar.
I'm keen to find out if this is possible, though I don't have access
to either car atm to see if a modified crx c/back would work.
Anyone out there with access to a DA9 & CRX that could kindly measure both
systems to see if this is possible???
you can get a hks one off ebay from the states, but shipping is a killer.
I have a custom pressed mild steel one with a stainless tip of my choice, that didn't cost an arm and a leg, and I'm pretty happy with it. but then again, I could've payed over twice that much, and had a full stainless madrel bent one with a cool name brand.
the aussie dollar wasn't quite as good when I bought though so maybe it's a more viable option now ... probably cheaper then a locally built custom mandrel bent one
yoyo, i am gonna buy a b16a. not b16a2/1 or whatever i dunno, dont know much infomation about it. but its a good price and genuine 56,000kms. doesnt come iwth dizzy or anything just a complete engine. what else do i need to finish the setup onto my da9?
-dizzy
-gearbox
-wiring looms
-ecu
-obd0 to obd1 harness
anythign else? thanks.
All 89-93 DA9's have the same curb weight yeah?
According to the Redbook
the 89-91 weighs 1122KG & the 92-93 weighs 1112KG.
Is this true or just a typo on Redbook site?
I wouldn't believe Redbook or even the manual. Mine (89-91 chassis) weighed in at 1060kg with around 10L of fuel, spare tyre, no heater-box or air-con of any description. So ~1075kg might be a fair estimation with no fuel at all.
hey does anyone know where i can pick up a new lip for my da9? in NSW
you dont need to change to obd1 harness. skip this by getting your ecu swapped or chipped. Only go obd1 if you are opening up the engine or adding forced induction eg turbo/nitrous.
I say all this from my own experience from an engine swap and not from what i have read of the internet.
i have same experience and would have to disagree, IMO. the obd1 is a easier ecu to tune and program then the obd0. there is much more flexability with the obd1.
also on that note, in no contrast of making a sale. honestly (i forgot i had it spare). i have a obd0-obd1 conversion harness. real cheap. pm me for more info.
if u look at the standard engine mounts they have holes around where it joins... (yes) u just fill them with sikaflex then leave them in the sun all day and put em in later... this in turn makes them solid rubber mounts like what u see on that website...
can u use the factory b18a dizzy on a b16a?... because b16a dizzys r bs expensive however i mite know where i can get a second hand one...
Otherwise on ebay try find a msd or even a aftermarket dizzy for a b16 i got a MSD coil and rotor cap to replace stock coil for 120 bucks delivered which is a good buy i think....
and wont the g/box be the same as a b18a (if its going in a da9?)
Yes you can but you'll have to grind off one of the attaching legs to make way for the VTEC solenoid.. Then you will still have to bolt it up with only one bolt. It didn't leak for me.
i asked adrian from toda, he said i would probably require OBD1 as the OBD0 vtec ecu is hard to source. vtec wont kick in unless i get a OBD0 vtec ecu which is i think the CRX JDM 89-91 i think. which is hard to source.
engine mounts remain the same.
gearbox remains the same.
*ecu i gotta change from my knowledge.
dizzy has to be changed as its non vtec dizzy. aftermarket dizzys and stuff im not so sure about but i'll do my research tonight.
any else i might need to know ? if you can, point form please =)
i have a obd1 b16a dizzy without cap, pm me if u interest
Seeming as the CD5 Accord lip fits the 89-91 front bar (with modifications).
I assume the a type R styled lip for a CD5 would fit the 92-93 front bars with no cutting etc.
(apart from the drilling/screwing side of things)

Right or Wrong?
As there a heap cheaper to purchase than the DA9 Type R styled lip.
I'm looking to upgrade my suspension soon. Might get some coilovers, any recommendations? Would EG front folk/coilovers setup be better?
i have these same wheels so i'm looking to get the same ride hight, i might need some negative camber?

Hey Fellas
Just got my exhaust done...
High flo cat, mandrel bends, stainless steel 2 1/4", hks cannon and hot dog.
very very loud and very low, but im not too fussed... i think i like it..
My main drama with the car now is CVs both are stuffed, and the middle cv is making the whole car wobble like the wheels are gonna fall off!
any idea how much new cv would set me back?
hahah go the cvs
i somehow manage to change mine at least once a year on average ! (car is actually jacked up now waiting for 2 news ones to go in !!)
i get them for $75 "reconditioned"
PM me for details and ill teach you a trick ;)
teach us all a trick!
yeh hell yeh teach it to me its bs puttin em bak on
i got my last set for 40 bucks a side in WA though from super cheap
where u from young mate?
i need to replace mine.... im sorta ignoring it til i snap axles when its turbo :)
ill get pics soon
anyone done a fuel pump on a da9 with maybe perfer a warlboro upgrade fuel pump id love pics maybe some ideas be real good im going to do it tmrw thats all
you shouldnt be having any trouble with your CVs unless you are extreemly lowered.
i am hehe
but i guess my problem occurs more frequently than others due to averaging 40k kms per year
Anyone had their exhaust replaced with anything higher? Since I put 15/50/195s on my car it scrapes on everything and I really want to try and do something before I rip the thing off.
i heard fuel pump is sorta easy. use this link and scroll down to walbro fuel pump install http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...ight=fuel+pump
fuel pumps a bit of a pain becuase you have to jack the car up and is right under the car and you cant access it form the back seat so you have to go underneath and take it out from underneath and not let the fuel tip out or anything i changed mine a couple months back
installing the fuel pump isnt the hard (annoying thing) its taking out your fuel tank and putting it back in...
yeh i did mine too, makes the engine bay abit neater, i will post pics too ounce its clean
squad it up!!! hell yeh.
post some name ideas?
