This CAI is VERY tempting.I'll still wait for the JTUNE gear. When it arrives i'll then make a decision.:p
I can't get that video file to work. Perhaps it's been removed.
I am plannnig to get the K&N CAI and to install it myself. Just wondering about the two vacuum intake (circled). From the photo, looks like the larger
intake is actually connected to the new pipe but the smaller pipe is not. What do I do with it? Put a stopper to it or leave it opened?
If u cap that section, how does that affect the performance of the vehicle or any as it previously receive air and now it doesn't.
Hey Aaron
I was reading one of the older threads and saw what you did your SRI and box. Job well done.
Anyway, after reading so many threads, I am now lost as to which intake to get....SRI or CAI. Based on what you've mentioned the SRI has no power loss at low rpms and others was saying that the K&N Typhoon is good at mid to high revs. I was actually intending to get the K&N but after reading too much
I am now lost.
What's your recommendation? HELPPPPPPPPP!!! I can't wait to get one now after reading too much.
Also which is better.. the oiled type filter or dry?
The SRI loses any advantage due to heat soak unless your willing to take the steps to make a custom enclosure like aaron.
Also in case you didn't notice, the K&N is a dual (split) piping design so you can attach the filter where the rubber joint normally goes (as seen in the pictures). In affect you can chose whether you'd like a CAI or an SRI.
oiled filters are definitely tried and tested k&n is probably the most known air filter brand in the world and all of theirs are oiled (there trademark)
chris is right, K&N typhoon is 'convertible' u can try both or chuck a bypass valve in between for hydrolocking saftey.
K&N Typhoon, best bang for buck for sure
