The SRI loses any advantage due to heat soak unless your willing to take the steps to make a custom enclosure like aaron.
Also in case you didn't notice, the K&N is a dual (split) piping design so you can attach the filter where the rubber joint normally goes (as seen in the pictures). In affect you can chose whether you'd like a CAI or an SRI.
oiled filters are definitely tried and tested k&n is probably the most known air filter brand in the world and all of theirs are oiled (there trademark)
chris is right, K&N typhoon is 'convertible' u can try both or chuck a bypass valve in between for hydrolocking saftey.
K&N Typhoon, best bang for buck for sure :thumbsup:
