Apparently Ultra Tune stuffed the threading for the Gearbox Oil NUT.. i've seen it. they held it in with silicon the bastards. Carl from Patterson Lakes CRS Automotive put Liquid Metal in its place to hold it in alot more secure. I'm under the impression that i need to get the gearbox oil topped up / changed for clunky noises and hard to select gears. How can i go about getting it fixed? do i need to buy another gearbox? or can i do a temporary fix to rethread it and use a larger nut?
You need to drain the box, drill and tap the hole the next size up, then flush it out with some oil. Then fill and fit the bigger plug.
Or re-thread with a helical or similar and use original plug
i don't know to do that. But i will research it! lol.

if you plan on re-tapping the filler hole id recommend having someone doing it who knows what they are doing.
basically they are going to drill it out to a larger hole and then re-thread it so a larger plug will fit in it.

Get them to flush your clutch fluid at the same time and check for leaks. Same with your brake master cylinder.
Word of warning though, if they say you need a new clutch master/slave or brake mastercylinder source the part yourself. You can get them much cheaper and quicker from US online sites than through Honda Australia.
I completely agree, but Who can i trust to do this work and not ask me for my arm or leg in return? also needs to be willing to follow that DIY on grinding off the dirt and regreasing the rod with the nippple at the end for the clutch shaft or something. hope you know which one im talking about?Quote:

have you checked the fluid level yet?

if it's low on fluid, top it up.. if it goes low again there's prob a leak
Also check the colour. New fluid is blue or gold and translucent, old is dark and opaque.
If it's low, which i suspect it will be. What do i use to top it up?Quote:

I got quoted 280 for the labor of installing them, bleeding them and new fluid.
If essendon honda was to source it all he quoted 780 dollars all up. LOL! i wish i could do this work by my self.

Just thought i'd let you know i got the parts from the same guy Auss2000 linked me to.
Clutch Master Cylinder $ 78.03
Clutch Slave Cylinder $ 55.54
total = $133.57 plus $51.80 shipping cost = $187.37. Got to my house within a couple of days. really happy with the guys service and very highly recommended to anyone. Genuine Honda parts with the sticker.
Essendon Honda quoted me $280 labour and oil bleeding etc to install it. and they quoted 780 with parts. so they wanted 500 dollars for the parts and probably would've taken them longer to get the parts in too!! saved soo much money and time.!
I'm thinking of buying a jack and stands to be able to do this work myself. Any Suggestions on a good low profile jack and also reliable?
I got mine from Autobarn. It's 90mm at it's lowest point so fits under my car. Was $300.
how can i be certain it doesn't release or trip or wheels dont roll when im under? is it recomended i have 4 stand for the car and then release the jack? how can i find very reliable jacks and stands? last thing i want is my life to end because i wanted to do it myselfQuote:

I often work under my car with the front or back on jacks. I have a hard and level concrete floor in my garage but still from now on I will chock the front wheels when working under the rear and use the handbrake when working under the front.
