S2000 Gearbox issues / plug threading rounded.

Lol i know that much! but should i just go oem? is there better stuff? i jsut spoke with essendon honda. i'm going to get them to look into it. i need to get a master cylinder and they said less likely to be a slave. is there any heavy duty stuff? he said oem would be 600-700

I got quoted 280 for the labor of installing them, bleeding them and new fluid.

If essendon honda was to source it all he quoted 780 dollars all up. LOL! i wish i could do this work by my self.

Thanks! i found this site on another forum somewhere as well. i just ordered the slave cylinder and master cylinder. i hope shipping doesn't cause any dramas or take too lone i cant stand driving my car like this and i drive it all the time

bleeding is the same as ur brakes just google it mate. it's the same on every car

Just thought i'd let you know i got the parts from the same guy Auss2000 linked me to.

Clutch Master Cylinder $ 78.03
Clutch Slave Cylinder $ 55.54

total = $133.57 plus $51.80 shipping cost = $187.37. Got to my house within a couple of days. really happy with the guys service and very highly recommended to anyone. Genuine Honda parts with the sticker.

Essendon Honda quoted me $280 labour and oil bleeding etc to install it. and they quoted 780 with parts. so they wanted 500 dollars for the parts and probably would've taken them longer to get the parts in too!! saved soo much money and time.!

I'm thinking of buying a jack and stands to be able to do this work myself. Any Suggestions on a good low profile jack and also reliable?

I got mine from Autobarn. It's 90mm at it's lowest point so fits under my car. Was $300.

how can i be certain it doesn't release or trip or wheels dont roll when im under? is it recomended i have 4 stand for the car and then release the jack? how can i find very reliable jacks and stands? last thing i want is my life to end because i wanted to do it myself

You jack the car up to place jack stands under it. Never get under it when it's on the trolley jack.

ok, thank you very much for the info. I'll try and find myself a jack and some stands. Think it's time i invest in them and do this work myself. Now just need the space. haha

We always here legends shrouded in mist of jacks collapsing on someone but often think of it as an urban myth. But last year an S2000 owner in the US and active member of S2Ki was killed when his car collapsed on him whilst working on the rear end.
