I doubt it is anything major. I've seen a H series lose its rings and you definitely know when that happens. Oil return is a possibility, or running a ball bearing turbo without restrictor is another possibility. A bit more info on the setup would help, along the lines of what Saxman asked. Was it a kit, what turbo, ECU etc.
 
CUL8R: you have a richer tune than stock since getting a standalone ECU?? You do realise that the stock ECU runs quite rich under load and that the standalone should be running leaner than stock.
