LoL my last fuel ups have been $65 - $68 98RON
To Date 44,855km / 3044.64 lts of standard 91RON. Ave 6.79 L/100km. FD1 Auto
where in QLd are you Buddah?
must be using a logbook
Not everyone will agree with my thoughts on fuel consumption, but they are as follows. Most people see the advertised fuel consumption figures and seem to think that they should be able to achieve something similar, but this will never be the case in every day driving. WHY, because we all have different driving styles and habits, and use our right foot in a different manner. Sure my fuel consumption figures are excellent, but my daily driving conditions are such that if I drive with economy in mind I am able to achieve the results i do. ! thing i did early on when researching the FD civic was to look at overseas web sites and i noticed that Honda UK advertise fuel use for both city and highway driving. Their advertised figures for the 1.8 Ltr Civic are 8.2 / 8.4 city and 5.1 / 5.4 Highway. I therefore believe that those of you getting around 9 to 9.5 l/100 in the city are therefore getting reasonable economy. As for their advertised highway figures, i have never been able to match that, although i have been close on 1 occasion when i got 5.8l/100km.
Those of you who really want good economy need to learn how to drive economically, and there is a lot more to doing that than many people think. But it can be done as I have discovered.
just fillup diesel, the price went up again $1.82/litre
i read news bfore, truck driver couldnt cope with diesel price rise these days,
one fillup cost them $800 dollar full tank. thats really pain in the ass
what buddah said was right..
i mean.. i got the most milage outta the car by putting it on neutral when going downhill etc etc, makes a whole lotta difference and also it's the way one drives :D
drive hard! or cruise like a grandma..
i doubt anyone here drives like a granny... else whats the point of the vtec!?!?!
i thought so, the 1.8 l ivtec, i vtec operate at low rpm purposely to improve the fuel economy, not designed for performance
fn2r is different, vtec operating for performance, not really for fuel economy
but to to me, its still economical because its better than having turbo car, the fuel consumption for fn2r (9.1L/100km) are better than wrx, evo or similar performance car,
wrx roughly 12L/100km up, i was saving roughly $20-30 a week now
2008 Civic vti FD1, 32 litres for 400km, 8L/100km, which seems a bit high for freeway driving, although most of it was in the wet.
It is quite normal to use slightly more fuel when driving on wet roads due to an increase in rolling resistance, especially in very wet conditions
Yes, that, and the fact that it was my very first fillup. BTW it was with Vortex 98 premium. The numbers should come down from here.
on a full tank of petrol . I usually avg about 450-480KM's.
I have tried using unleaded, premium and octane and never got 500KM's + out of my full tank of petrol (40L).
My FD1 is used as a daily and is often down the M5. Stop and start traffic during peak hour.
Whats your thoughts?
to start with you have a 50 liter tank in your FD1 so at worst you are getting 10L/100km if your driving till your tank is bone dry.
CTR 1,600ks
avg 8.2L/100km on around 485-495Ks, with about another 145Ks left on tank
mostly highway driving, medium-fast flow traffic running on V-Power
i'll pay more attention to it next time coz I had the reset on fuel option on.
another week....same result.....600km and still no low fuel warning light, but then again there would be something wrong if it was
My FD1 auto hovers around the 8.2L/100km, the more i use it the lower the figure gets, last figure was 7.3L/100km
Its just done 14000km
Haha in my best, I an get 650km out of a tank of 91 in my Civic FD1 Auto. Nowadays however I average around 350-400 >__> .... and it cost me $70 to fill up last week at $1.65/L!
2008 VTI manual civic......did country trip at 110kph last week .....averaged 16km/litre over 1000km trip.....using premium unleaded.
2008 Civic VTI Auto: 9.1L/100kms (did 417.6km with 38L)
I've just done over 2000kms though.
2007 Civic Sport Auto: Am constantly getting 13L/100km
Worst was 14L/100km
80% City drive, 20% on 80km/h road.
Any other 2L auto drivers getting similar results?
omg 13L/100 thats terrible, how many revs are u changing gears at?
I change like 20km 45km 60km 70km
and i get 550 recently on a full tank using 45LT
Car's an auto, so no specific km, but usually changes when it hits 3000rpm.
My usual fill up is about 40L with 300km
wow 300kms that is so crap. 13.3ltrs/100 thats like a commowhore almost! obviosuly if you are concerned with fuel consumption you would have bought a 7 step honda jazz or at least a manual civic. but yeah i can understand how you would be upset being under the impression you should be getting better expecially when comparing your consumption to some others on here. it all comes down to your driving style. try taking your foot off the accelerator when braking. or release the brake when driving (many older asian ladies in my area do that one) also avoid drag racing everyone at the lights. take the BBQ out of your boot (extra weight doesnt help). accelerate slower than everyone around you ALL of the time. do not come to a sudden stop, slow down earlier even if cars pass you. this gives you the opportunity to keep the car rolling, reducing the fuel consumption during your next acceleration. turn the AC off as much as possible, but keep the fan going on low so the vents dont start to smell.
thanks for the driving tips inzpector...
I was wondering what other civic fd2 auto drivers are getting, driving mostly in city.
Update on the log book of my FD1 Auto is 47588kms - 3226.45 liters gives an overall average of 6.78L/100km. best of 5.8 - worst 7.9
My best & worst of 06 Civic Sports Auto:
- Worst: 12.4L/100kms
- Best: 9.1L/100kms
Honda Civic Type R
Shell V-Power 45L / 8.5L 469kms with 74 kms left on tank
FD1 Auto 708kms / 44.5 liters - standard 91 RON
FD1, 2500km done already. Last fillup, regular unleaded. 535Km for 38.5 litres, 7.2 L / 100km. This was on a 6 hour freeway trip. The fuel economy is slowly coming down as the engine runs in.
No, it gets better. It gets better by going down. We're comparing fuel economies in L/100km. The lower the better.
I think when syl3ns say "The fuel economy is slowly coming down", he means that the 7.2L/100kms is gradually "going down" to like 7L/100kms. ^_^
And triode12 thought the sentence sounds like the fuel economy is getting crappier.
peace
i have had my civic now for 1 1/2 yrs and driven about 11000 kms, my lifetime fuel economy is 7.44/l 100 kms.
EU - 7.5 to 8.4ltr per 100km
Ek4 - 8 to 12ltr per 100km
EK1 Auto (450kms - 36L)
= 8L/100km
using Shell V-Power.
I'm not sure is that good for an auto car?
