    Need new clutch

    Hi All,
I am new to the board, I have a yr 2000, S2000 and I need some recommendations on a good garage can fit a new clutch to my car, my local Honda dealer normally services the car but I am not to sure how many times they will have done a clutch on a S2000 so I am trying to find a garage that has good expertise. I live on the Northern Beaches, but work in Alexandria so I could take it in either of these areas. If the info has been post before then a link would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Clutches in S2K's are a bitch to change.... Honda would have done plenty of them. Go with an Excedy HD Kit, it's the same as Honda OEM but can be sourced for cheaper. Not sure who to recommend for a clutch kit, as the starter motor bolts are the hardest f@#kin thing to take out and do up.

Not really. You're only buying the same problem again by buying an OEM S2000 clutch, except this time you're paying twice as much in labour fees as other workshops.

Go to Honda and you'll end up with a bill in excess of $1800-$2200. Seen it happen right here on OzHonda many-a-time.

The worst place to go for a clutch change is a Honda dealer.

They charge to top dollar for parts and have mechanics that are used to changing clutches in FWD econoboxes.

There's nothing especially hard about changing the clutch in the S2000. It's just a typical front engine, rear wheel drive layout. I'd recommend sourcing an Exedy HD clutch and getting Warringah Clutch Service in Mitchell Rd Brookvale (opposite McDonalds) to fit it.

I do my own work and last time I needed to replace a clutch I got a stuffed Exedy Hyper Single and looked around for a place to have it rebuilt. Most places wanted to just replace the friction plate at a cost of over a grand. Warringah sent off for new pads (it's a 6 puck) and rebuilt it for $308.
