    clutch noise..help!

    hey guys,

lately theres this noise that seems to be coming from the engine. its hard to describe but when i push the clutch in the noise goes away and when i release the clutch the noise returns.

my mate said its most likely some clutch bearing. is this easy or cheap to fix?

he said its nothing to worry about..just annoying.

    regards,

    duck

    input shaft bearing mate.
if the noise is there when your clutch is in, then its thrust bearing..
when the clutch is out, input shaft...

there have been numerous threads on this. id know because i had the same problem in my crx.

yeah mine was slight, i just hated hearing it, no one ever heard it when they sat in my car. im just really picky...

its up to you what you do with it..

eventually it could get worse, and other things will fail, and in worse case scenarios could be a gearbox rebuild...

if its only slight you can leave it until it gets louder, but i cant say whether thats the best thing to do or not.

It may be your car running low on oil..

    Check thread - http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119191

I've had the same issue, when idle, i hear the a loud noise but when i clutch in, it goes away, fixed it by changing oil and refilling it..

Possibility could be low oil ?

    Hope this helps!

ISP - Input shaft bearing ,change it as soon as possible , will only get louder the more your drive it.

i got my input shaft bearing replaced.. and another bottom or top bearing i think i cant remember.. noise is still there.

we should be looking at other options. for this thread, and previous threads.
