    DC5R HP at wheels question

How much KW or HP should a DC5 integra type r have at the wheels? Because, mine has 180 HP atw and it's not exactly standard.

This is what I've got on the Integra:

    Skunk 2 Intake manifold

    Skunk 2 70mm throttle body

    Skunk 2 Fuel Rail

Upgraded injectors ( however I dont know how big they are, coz the guy who sold the car to me didn't know either )

    Injen CAI

    MUGEN headers

    Skunk 2 exhaust system

    Hondata K pro ECU

Am i just kidding myself, or is 180 HP right for what I have on the car??

    Please use a better title.

    It helps for reference.

Go get another dyno run done and tell the operator to tune up the setting so that your get a super high figure.

Point is, its just a number to get reference.

What matters is how the car drives.
Does it put out what its suppose to on the road?
or does it drive like a dud.

If it drives good then i wouldn't worry.

Actually when I think about I think I was running 95 an not 98 fuel.

The car does drive very nice, however VTEC doesn't feel as strong as it used to before we tuned it.
Because we plugged the laptop into the ECU when I first got the car and it wipped the tune because the previous owner had it locked... hense the reason why we had to do a brand new tune.

Which dyno did you go to?

Every dyno is different. Some places you probably get 100hp, some places you'll get 200hp.

So if you tell us which dyno, we can help.

    So 134kw.

What wheels are you using (OEM 16's or aftermarket)? Dyno's should only be used a tuning tool, not a be-all-and-end-all for a power output. There are FAR too many variables when it comes to a dyno and comparing the figures, such as:
    - Air temp
    - Rim size
    - Tyre size
    - Tyre pressure
    - Brand of dyno
    Just to name a few.

I had my car tuned by Adrian from Toda in Nov 2009 and Nov 2010. In Nov 2009 I had:
    - Mugen intake
    - OEM JDM DC5R headers
    - Mugen Catback
    - Hondata K-Pro
    - Wed Sport SA90 17x8 +35
and I got 138kw at the wheels

    In Nov 2010 I had:
    - Mugen Intake
    - Toda headers with 100 cell cat
    - Mugen Catback
    - Hondata K-Pro
    - Volk TE37's in 17x9 +22
and I got 136kw... yet the car IS faster in every regard (With further testing on private roads using the Apexi RSM on both occasions). Adrian later said that if I put the OEM 16’s on, put the tyre pressure up to 50psi, the car would easily see 150+ FWKW.

But for the mods you have performed, and the fact they aren't "simple" bolt on (Intake, Headers, Exhuast), that figure is a tad low compared to others who have got 140kw+ with just intake (Injen, Mugen, Gruppe M), Headers (Toda, Mugen) and a cat back.

For the most accurate results you are best to use a “hub dyno”.

In regards to your last coment about what I have on the car and that I should be getting more power... I agree, however the tune was done from a unexperienced tuner and I feel that I can get higher figures with what I have on the car!

Thanks heaps for your feed and comparison 45SET!

By the way I have stock 16" rims on the integra.

With the throttle body, intake manifold and injector mods (As long as they are bigger then stock) you should easily get more power and torque out of the car.

If you can, I would try and take it to one of the tuners in Sydney that specialise in Honda Tuning if you want to get the most out of the car.

Myself, I would reccomend Adrian at Toda (Toda AU on the forum). He has flown up to Brisbane a few times now, and every car he tunes, the owners is over the moon with the tune and the service that he offers.
