If the standard Type R exhaust is 2.25", why would you EVER upgrade to an after market 2.25" exhaust? I've heard some people talking about after market 2.25 vs 2.5, or have I gotten something wrong?
Why wouldn't you just rip the muffler off, replace that, and replace the headers + cat?

some people don;t realise how good the stock dc2r piping is, and through their lack of knowledge end up wasting their money getting something that will not really affect perfromance in any great way.
However, like i stated before it is not a 2.25" constant width, so i'm sure most people who do change to after market cat backs (ie. spoon, vision & mugen) do so becuase they want a constant width.
