Signature Advertising No Longer Allowed

Hi all,

Following on from this thread and various comments in the past, signature advertising will no longer be allowed.

The only exception is where you have an item for sale in the Marketplace and would like to get more coverage by putting it in your signature. This is ONLY FOR YOUR ITEMS however and there MUST be a link to your For Sale Thread (or else you will get an infraction).

Just to clarify, you cannot:

Put links to other sites selling an item (whether it be yours or someone else's items)
Have anything along the lines of "PM me (or anyone else) for xxx product or yyy service"

Moderators will be going through and removing signatures as they come across them. There will be about a 3-4 week grace period after which infractions will start being issued for people who fail to follow the new rules.

I will be emailing all users in the near future.

EDIT2: Note that this does not apply to paying Traders.

We can simply just report post?

Just to make moderators jobs that little bit easier.

So...am i able to sell mobile phones over sig? Since it is not car related in anyway or is selling in sig pretty much banned full stop unless u have a thread ?

No advertising is simply that, there are no exceptions to this bar a link to that member's OWN FS thread in the Marketplace.

Thought it was against rules to advertise/sell un car related things here

lets say...someone has xxx stuff for sale in sig. Its a bit of a pain in the ass for moderators to actually look up if they have a for sale thread.
I think they should provide a direct link to their thread as well.

Your not understanding...
No advertising is allowed... plain and simple.

The only thing relating to sales/adverts thats allowed, are direct links to that thread, that MUST BE the member;s own thread.

If its not a link, then its gone.
No warnings to this.

In the past you could put it in your signature and we didn't bothered about it. But for the Marketplace......yes.....non non-car/non-Honda items.
