installing dynaudio esotec system 242 woofer

Hey, i just got my speaker set today and having some serious troubles installing the mid bass. I took the front door panels out and test fitted the speaker into the oem location. The rear of the woofer does not slot into the oem speaker location, when the fender is added, the speaker protrudes about 4 cm into the cabin. Does any have any suggestions on what i should do?

you'll need spacers, but that depends on how much clearance between the grille and speaker.

no offence but maybe you should take it to be done by a professional, you dont really sound like you know what your doing and i'd hate to hear if you damaged such a beautiful set of speakers, if you do go ahead with it yourself make sure you pay attention to the wiring diagram as the dyn's are a little un informative when it comes to their diagrams

you could always ask a professional what to do ie go down to jb hi fi and get them to quote the job and take u through what they would be doing..otherwise theres heaps of online info its just a matter of interpreting it properly

MAN DONT DODGE IT!!!!! if you dodge it you will lose 90% of the quality that those truly awesome speakers create! make sure it is solidly mounted into a sound deadened door. don't waste those speakers or give them to someone who really will appreciate them and give them what they need! dyns are the benchmark for speakers. don't go to a jb hi fi etc. go to a specialist car audio install shop. i had my dyns 362's done by the best people in briz and wouldn't of had it any other way! and they are the best sounding speakers i have ever heard!
Is this the end of my car modding days? Buying a house says so...

i got them from northfield, like matt said, they tlked me through the options. They mentioned that they did a similar jazz install to an 09 jazz. The fact is the 09 jazz oem location protrude out so it gives alot of space for the speaker to sit. The problem with the dyns i have is that the spider is so large it only fits 1/5 of the way into the metal door. Northfield guys told me to either have the speakers protrude outside the trim (ie cut the oem grill off) and have a pod for it to sit in. I wanna flush look so i though about cutting the metal door intead of the interior trim so it can occupy the wofffer. this way i can get a sturdy fit to the door. They recomended putting a spacer between the metal door and the speaker plate.

honestly other quality brand speaker can kill your dyn if they are installed properly, so try to do it right otherwise you will regret it the sound of your dyn
