    slow and steady ek1

Hey guys name is pat, thought i'd share my ek1.

    I previously had an eg8:

    Sold that then bought this:

got a spoon style CF wing and oem sideskirts

    DIY blackened headlight housings

Lowered on king springs with ek4 shocks, also got a mould-less front bar

    Genuine front lip

    Got some wheels

    K-Tuned b/d series shifter with a Skunk 2 knob

    How she sits now

Also sold the Skunk 2 knob and got a Spoon duracon one much better!

    Future plans:
    .Coilovers
    .Rear Disk brakes, bigger fronts
    .RSB
.Put a b16a in once i get off my p's
.Get dent on the driver side fixed up
.Take it to the track have some fun.

Stay tuned for updates should get some coilovers very soon!

    Nice car mate!

    But I agree with HTV - Get a B18C. These days I wouldn't really bother dropping in a B16A.

Check how much a B18C2 is & B16, let us know after. Reason being, a mate of mine fitted B16 into a eg he regrets having it due to less hp/torque. If you do a swap, do the best you can.

B16 isn't bad by any means but you're better off with a b18c2 at least. Drove an EG with one last night, was very nice.

B16 is best in things like ED/EF which are lighter and not as sluggish with the lower displacement IMO.

If I bought a b16a these days I'd probably just put the head on a b20 block if it's for an eg or ek

Thanks man, shifter is pretty sweet, never had a short shifter before so can't compare...my only issue is that the bolt to turn the top half of the shifter undoes itself every couple of weeks, so i just keep an hex key in the car

Yeah i went back to the ek1 bar originally was going ek9 rep so didn't want moulds but i reckon ek4 lip suits the moulds, and i'd do k swap easy if i could get the funds see how i go.

I found a dc2 vti-r half cut for 3500, and yeah i know what you mean better off doing it once and doing it right so no regrets later.

i want to enter some hillclimbs so the extra torque of the b18 would be good
