    ATF & Oil cooler

    Hi,

Has anyone installed ATF or Oil Cooler.

I ran an oil cooler on my old '95 Suzuki GTi and bikes almost always have oil coolers.

They increase your oil capacity and are important for improving oil temperature in extreme conditions. They are great for offroad ralleying in cars. By lowering your engine temperature in your ralley car you can extract more power.

What about tranny cooler? I touched the underside of the CVT unit after a spirited drive and it was burning hot.. Add to this that the recommended change interval for ATF is a whopping 80,000km... and the unknown reliability of the CVT unit in the long term.. (already had mine replaced under warranty at 65000km due to strange squeeling noise on cold start)

Andy, strange squeeling noise on cold start??? Does it sound similiar to Belt Squeaking noise? My car is doing that at the momment.. Not sure if there is something to worry about...

Damn. Also what about oil pan baffles or superior oil sump? I haven't seen any bolt on product for the jazz for this function.

I'm pretty sure my CVT must be overheating with the way I drive it...

    ahcash, refer to this thread:

For my dealer to find the problem I had to force them to leave my car overnight so they could start it cold in the morning to see the noise appear. Otherwise they couldn't find the noise.

oil pan is easy... that one can b custom made .... as for the oil cooler, i believe that it will helps the cvt.... cos theorically, the oil just flowing through the oil cooler... nothing much.... if i can get one with good price, i dun mind trying it.... its simple bolt on anyway....

The thing is, with the CVT unit it seems to be self contained. I doubt there is a way to tap into the flow of the fluid inside it to cool it down. Maybe we could weld heatsinks into all sides of the CVT unit so airflow while driving cools it down??
