either way, it's a standard filter, that is oiled.
    lol.
I can second Destrukshn's statement. I noticed that when I bought a new Honda air filter for my EK1 Civic there packaging was a little oily from the filter. It is not as heavily oiled as a K&N or Unifilter, but there is definitely some sort of fine oil on it.

having it boxed is better for performance anyways, so whats the problem?
since your allowed to have an oiled filter boxed everything is fine and legal
you just need the $$ for it. so concerned about whether it is legal or not.
the simple solution is to just fork out the money to make it legal

I might be wrong. Hehhe. But I still think it is something else because paper filters don't need oil. HHeheeh. Maybe it is a thin layer to prevent moisture from damaging the paper.

Man Pods arnt illegal in vitoria. I thought they where illegal however the other week i got pulled over for a random roadworthy and they made me pop the hood. The officer called about 10 other cops and said "boys come and have a look at this" They where looking at my intake system and actually asked me where i got it made. i told them i enclosed it because they are illegal. And they all said no they are not

no, unless you get it ADR tested for noise adn emmissions.

FYI - just becuase someone has been pulled over by a cop, and was not defected, does not mean it is LEGAL, it means that soemone was LUCKY...

it changes NOISE and EMISSIONS and is therefore illegal because it changes the car from the way it was complianced to something that is now uncomplicanced under the Australian Design Rules.
