That's why I qualified my post with "Apart from a dearth of useful torque". A catch-all meaning it's not practical for normal cars. But somewhat more than 147kW should be achievable in response to your stated exasperation with the new model's apparent lack of substantive improvement in the power department. An exasperation that I share with you.

Your suggestion might well be desirable over a more potent 2.4L. Or they could put a turbo motor in it as they do with the 2.3L Acura RDX. Having owned three turbo cars to date, I would not mind another as the torque-rush is very addictive.
