i think the reviewer confused handling with grip/limit.
from his/her comments, it seems the new car has better grip and/or higher limit but less rewarding behind the wheel.
a car can pull high Gs etc but feel bad behind the steering wheel. and feeling is subjective so best to drive it yourself.
also did the review state which spec it is testing?
diff weight and tyre/wheel combo would affect the result.
