I know of someone who shifts gear by holding the clutch pedal halfway for about 0.5 seconds to smoothen it out. His OEM clutch died in 10,000km. 0.5 seconds is nothing, but it wears out quick. And for your ORC which is a different formulation, it could be less forgiving to releasing the clutch slowly. Why are you holding revs at up to 2k though? If you were releasing the clutch slowly, 1000-1500 rpm would be enough.
I launch like you now Aaron, rev up to like 1200rpm and let it out pretty quickly with a little bit of throttle. So it's almost doing the kangaroo hop but it's still smooth . Clutch still feels like the day it was put in after almost 15,000km(doesn't burn out as easily though).
