Nice, i have one myself. The sound these things make is beautiful, yet still quiet which is what i love

The b pipe is in 2 parts so its cheaper for them to ship

    Ok guys,
Finally got around to give this Toda cat back a review.
Please note this is based on my own experience and my car, people may have different opinion that’s fine.
Never seeing the muffler in the flesh, just by pics here and there, it looked the goods to me.
There are also the claims that’s it’s supposed to free up some more power. Some say 5kw ATW?
My goal also was to fit it myself. DC5 owners we are lucky because from cat bat it’s pretty simple to do.
As you can see the product itself is second to none, no corner cutting here, it’s all most too good to but under neath the car.
I didn’t no what to expect in terms of sound. Initially it was quiet, give it a few revs, I’d just expected it to be louder.
So after taking for a bit of a spin the car sounded great, a little deeper just right not going to attract to much attention, I was very happy with the choice I made. Can’t say that I felt any real power difference.
So I took my brother for a spin in it his response was “WOW it seems to run and sound a lot smoother, no shortage of power right up to 8,000rpm”.
Next step was to put it on the dyno. Not a bad idea until I realized that I should of put the car on the dyno before doing anything to it so I know where I started in the first place.
I put the standard air box back in before the dyno, so at least it should give me some sort of an idea or maybe or maybe not!
With such short notice I managed to get a few power runs down at Pro-Tek. They were kind enough to let me change over to my Apexi SRI while it was still on the dyno and do a few more runs.

Conclusion; I was going to get new wheels next year, but I think I’m going to get the Toda headers in search of more power.

P.S. if anybody has done DC5S on a dyno with no mods, be good to see what the base power is.

400+ newton metres of torque? is it just me or is that just a little too high?

When it’s on the dyno it shows more, like about doubled

after having it for a while. how much louder do you think the system is compared to the stock one? at low rpm and at high rpm?

At low rpm a little louder. while backing off the accelerator with some small popping sound
At high rpm it is louder but I don't think it will attract the boys in blue

Did you consider the Fujitsubo Powergetter as an option? if so, what made you choose the Toda one?

This is a quote i got from Club RSX for a stock DC5 Type S WHP. I have added the link below if you want to view the entire thread.

    http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=344745

Q5: You said the Dynojet is the most common. What are typical numbers from that?
A6: SAE corrected results on an 02-04 type-S with the engine broken in (i.e. at least 5k miles) should be in the 170-175whp range. 05-06 models will do slightly better than that (175-180whp).

To Maracer, if this base power figure is accurate please let us know how much power you gained from your exhaust.

I hope this helps you out.

    Thanks,
going by those figures i'm in deep shit because
    118kw ATW = 158hp ATW

Not really... You're actually on the money for eddie current type dynos for power output.
The Dynojet is an inertia type dyno & reads higher (closer to flywheel) power.
To keep things on a level playing feild, you aught not compare power figure with different dyno types.
Dyno Dynamics, Mainline & Pressision are more common in Australia & are eddie current type dynos.
FWIW, my Type S put out 112kw on our dyno dynamics when it was stock & new. A 2kw difference as a base-line is quite normal.
Given the chance of different tyre pressures, tyres, wheels, atmospheric conditions etc etc...
Also, nice reveiw... Good to see you like the exhaust...
    Cheers

Thanks for that great information TODA AU
I love the product and sometime in the middle of this year I’ll be getting the Toda headers to complete the system
