a properly sized turbo on stock internals can run 10 psi without a problem, assuming you have a proper engine management set up that has been tuned. Most kits DO NOT come with a proper engine management set up. You're looking at something like hondata and larger injectors at the very least.

6-7 psi without proper engine management is FAR more dangerous and hazardous to the motor than 10 psi properly tuned.

It's ALL in the tuning. Bad tuning and the motor can blow with hardly any boost. Good tuning and it can run good amounts of boost with perfect reliability.

Remember, the engine management is the KEY to a good turbo set up and is THE MOST IMPORTANT part. EVERYTHING else is secondary. The turbo, the manifold, the intercooler, etc... all secondary. Engine management is number one, and the absolute last place to cut corners. You need a fully programmable ecu and larger injectors to run well. Don't buy into the idea that an fmu or a vafc will work for you, etc... they don't.

so to do a b16a2 to b18c converstion, all u have to do is take out the old motor and put in the new one? what about the ecu would u have to use the b18c ecu? and the loom? everything from the b16 loom will plug right back into place on the b18c?

You need to match the ECU to the engine. B18c have IAB so you will have to add a few wires.

Having said that as my cousin built both the motors - obviously it was money saved in labour. but just consider your options

    Quoted for truth.

This stock b16b runs 9psi (max), despite higher comp than b16a, using 510cc injectors.

    thats so true
if the b16a has soo much potiential then why is it that both engines with the same mods, the b18c always produces more power
even with a "bang for buck" bolt on turbo kit the b18 will produce more power

b16a is the fkn stupidest and shitest motors in the worlld

i would never go back to one ever again.

u have to rev the farker and waste petrol just to overtake something.... wat a pos.

when i change from b16a to b18 in my sol it was the best thing that i ever did for the car
